naSu parts ways with Red Reserve

Niko "⁠naSu⁠" Kovanen has stepped down from his position as Red Reserve coach, the North American organisation have announced.

In a Twitter post, Red Reserve thanked naSu for his time with the organisation but did not disclose the reason behind his sudden departure, which comes just two weeks before the Europe Minor.

naSu had been coaching the team since October, when he took over the job from Graham "messioso" Pitt. He guided the team to victory at the Qi Invitational and to a quarter-final appearance at WESG 2017 while under GODSENT.

naSu is no longer coaching the ex-GODSENT squad

The 28-year-old attended only one event since the team joined Red Reserve, DreamHack Open Summer, where his side went out 7th-8th following defeats to AGO and North.

Red Reserve have been drawn in Group B of the Europe Minor, along with Ninjas in Pyjamas, Kinguin and Sprout. Their first match at the event will see them take on their fellow Swedish side, on July 20.

With naSu's departure, Red Reserve now have:

I understand. However, this way, people who are a fan of low tier teams of their scenes get to see news about them and, consequently, HLTV keeps more users in the website. Also, it's not like you're gonna miss the big news because they usually put the big ones on that header/banner too or you see it in the threads.

Natu doesn't have time to coach ence and take care of his actual work (and family) full time. Nasu also has great merits as a coach having put penta in a major (very quickly, might I add) and helped godsent do pretty well despite their young and inexperienced roster. Ence needs more tactical help from outside. Aleksib won't have time to prepare for all the matches, prac with the team and stay well rested during the events. Especially if the event calendar gets any busier or even stays the same as it's right now. Natu has only been there to help them in late round situations online and as a cheerleader and a mental coach on LAN glueing the team together. He has done that well but I believe nasu is overall going to be way more useful and will do many more things for the team as he is a dedicated coach who will attend the practise sessions and watch demos of the opponents.
