Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik has given more insight into his reasons for leaving Cloud9 to embark on a new challenge with MIBR.

The 22-year-old has been officially unveiled as MIBR's latest recruit, stepping into the shoes of Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass in the team after nearly a year in Cloud9's ranks.

In the Brazilian team, tarik will reunite with former C9 teammate and compatriot Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip, alongside whom he made history by winning ELEAGUE Major Boston, earlier in the year.

tarik opens up about his MIBR move

In a Twitlonger post, tarik admitted that the decision to leave Cloud9 was "incredibly hard", but explained that the opportunity to play for the ex-SK team was too good to pass up.

"I can't help but say that I'm very excited to start working with my new teammates on MIBR," tarik wrote.

"The sole reason I want to make this change is simple... I want to win, and I will do anything in my power to make that happen.

"Having the opportunity to play with the legendary core of SK and reunite with my former teammate is extremely thrilling for me.

"It will not be an easy road, and I do not think we will become the best team overnight. However, I am willing to bet that we will make it work, one way or another."

tarik went on to praise Cloud9 and revealed that he always thought that he would end his career in the North American organisation, whom he had joined from OpTic in August 2017.

"To be completely honest, I thought Cloud9 would be the last team that I competed under," he added.

"They are an amazing organization that truly went above and beyond my expectations. Many people are unaware of what goes on behind the scenes, but I really want to make clear that Cloud9 do all they can for their players.

"It is very difficult for me to make this decision, but I'm confident that we will meet again at the top.

"Tim, Tyler, Soham and Will are people that are much more than teammates to me, and I only wish them the best of luck moving forward.

"The first American team to win a Major, no one can take that away from us. "

Good igl, 3 of the top 10 players last year. One of the best talents from NA and another strong rifler who will provide comfort to stew. It SHOULD work they just need to pick a style instead of trying to be half tactical half skill based garbage.
