Following Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev's ESL One Cologne 2018 MVP award by HLTV.org & betway, our video editor Filip "filq" Szatkowski has produced a video with some of the player's best moments.

Natus Vincere started their ESL One Cologne run on the back foot, losing 14-16 against G2 in their opener. Still, with s1mple leading the charge with a tournament-high 1.37 rating, the Ukrainians went on to lift the trophy, beating the likes of Astralis and BIG in the process to take home the grand prize of $125,000.

Throughout the 17 maps he played, the 20-year-old star had a single below-average performance, a 0.82 rating on the only map that Natus Vincere lost against BIG in the grand final. Moreover, he led the tournament charts in five categories besides rating: kills (404), kills per round (0.90), KDD (+142), opening kills (71) and rounds with at least one kill (56.1%).

The Ukrainian also appeared in the top five in nine other stats categories, including KAST (76.9%), clutches (8), deaths per round (0.58) and success in opening duels (62.3%).

He is the best but he is also overrated. What don't you get? Its just common hltv logic. Only god is not overrated. Simple is not god. Person with a name "simple" cannot be god. Maybe if he would name himself "compl3x" then we could talk. As for now he is currently the best and also overrated player. But when you think about it... you cannot be overrated because you are the best. There nothing more above that. So there is nothing left to overrate you on. Maybe he is the GOD then. As we all know god CAN create a stone that he cannot lift. But he can then lift that stone anyway. Very similar like simple here...

The thing is that he is the best player at the moment. But people call him the best player to ever live, best player of cs:go, best player of the cs history. That is why he is overrated

I mean he is the best player in CS:GO ever maybe not of all time a lot of people would say that belongs to f0rest because he dominated 1.6 as a top 3 player and for a few years was top 5 in CSGO but he so far has had the most dominate start to any year and is now on an elite level team where he can start lifting trophies to fill that gap.

It's almost unbelivable how good s1mple is... so many pixel perfect plays in a single tournament... while most top pros won't get this many high pressure perfect clutch plays in their entire career... s1mple makes it look easy in the span of a fucking weekend.
