With the four Minors leading up to the FACEIT Major now over, all 24 teams for the next Valve-sponsored $1 million competition have now been determined.

OpTic and Ninjas in Pyjamas, the finalists of the Europe Minor, have booked the final spots at the Major, joining the leading sides of the other three Minors: Rogue and Complexity from the Americas, HellRaisers and Spirit from the CIS, and TYLOO and Renegades from Asia.

These eight squads will fight for their tournament lives in the New Challengers Stage along with the bottom eight sides of the previous Major, among whom are four teams currently in the top 10, including the No.1 team at the moment, Astralis. The other teams are Liquid (4th), BIG (7th) and North (10th).

Competing for the final eight places in the New Legends Stage will be the following 16 teams, who will square off in the New Challengers Stage from September 5-9:

It's not quite an 'invite system', nobody's invited to the Major. The teams that are listed in the main event are the teams that have been placed top 8 in the last Major. Astralis weren't half as good by then and so now that they grinded their super form it will be no drag for them to qualify. It's a good system really. This 'auto-invite' keeps the history from the previous Major and it's good. I like it.

It is 100% an invite system just with a different name idk what you are on Its not a too horrible system because there werent huge amounts of fluke playoff teams per major but we would see the flaw of this system if 2-3 teams manage to make their way to the playoffs as a one off This system is flawed because we have two majors per year so there is HALF A YEAR between two majors.Even in one month a lot can change in terms of team's strength but in half a year the entire face of top CS can change. To better show the problem in the legends system:try to make a real argument for inviting QBF(not even top40 on hltv atm) to the most prestigious tournament of the year,or try to make a real argument for Astralis(#1 team,most dominant team of the season)to not be invited. I easily can, I fully agree with how the system works. Who said Major should contain all the best teams possible? It would just be another ELEAGUE Premier. This way Major becomes more exciting to watch the progress and outcome of teams preparation. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. If Astralis couldn't make it to the Legend stage last time it's nobody's fault but their own. And you can't blame QBF for playing better than most of the teams at last Major. I understand your flames but you can do nothing about it and I'm glad by the way it is.
