Ghost part ways with Pollo - Report

Ghost have dispensed with the services of Matt "Pollo" Wilson, Dust2.us has reported.

The news follows Ghost's quarter-final exit in the StarSeries i-League Season 6 North America qualifier following a 1-2 defeat to Swole Patrol.

Ghost captain Joshua "steel" Nissan had made no secret that the team were facing "issues" with Pollo while at the ZOTAC Cup Masters Americas Finals but had stressed that he wanted to give the 21-year-old a chance.

In June, Pollo was one of the three players from Torqued to link up with Ghost, who, shortly afterwards, competed at ESL One Belo Horizonte, placing 7-8th. The team then flunked during the Americas Minors North America closed qualifier but bounced back by winning the ZOTAC event, securing a spot in Hong Kong.

Underlying issues puts Pollos' future in the air

Ghost are down to just four and will be on the lookout to replace the 21-year-old - with the team set to participate in MSI's MGA North America Playoffs, scheduled to start August 11.

With a busy schedule ahead, Ghost will travel to Hong Kong for the ZOTAC Cup Masters event, from August 24-26, after which they will fly to Sweden for DreamHack Masters Stockholm, running from August 29 to September 2.

With the reported changes, Ghost are down to:

Canada Matthew "WARDELL" Yu
Canada Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik
Canada Joshua "steel" Nissan
United States Kenneth "koosta" Suen

United States James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (coach)

and all that after a bad game against swole patrol , thats how fast NA teams disband. and this is why NA teams cant find a long enough win streak to be considered a t1 csgo region.

It's not like EY is all t1. And stuff like this happens in sports all the time. If you look at any sport every team is constantly changing. Changing may cause inconsistency but it is also the best way t ok create a super team.

well they can say anything obv , they had an amazing run together beating everyone on LAN and online , that loss against swole patrol was their fisrt defeat . I dont think they had any issues together before that , or nothing critical . anyway its wierd that they still teamed up in the new ORG with new ppl if they had any isuees.

Alright i'm sorry if I came off as hostile first of all I was not aware that this was their first defeat, which is very surprising to be honest. I think this has to do with Pollos personality and they could probably go even further with a solid fifth

knowing how steel might tilt in important games or games that they shouldnt have lost , i might predict that it was steels decision , so he kinda kicked him . i was really looking forward into that team but now i am not sure how to feel about them .

That might be true - but I think everyone were on the same terms about this being steel's team of sorts. Not only is he the IGL but also the most experienced and definitely the most vocal of them.

Read this article that's linked in the one above: dust2.us/News/1546-steel-i-think-koosta-.. Pollo hasn't improved since then and thus has been kicked.

"Ghost captain Joshua "steel" Nissan had made no secret that the team were facing "issues" with Pollo while at the ZOTAC Cup Masters Americas Finals but had stressed that he wanted to give the 21-year-old a chance." It was clearly not just that game.

Steel talked about the problems with pollo at the lan that they won, they want to get better and realized after the qualifier they gotta do it.

What? for once, this is an NA team that did the right thing. They literally exhausted their options with Pollo before they kicked him. You want to see fast kicks? Only 3 NA MDL teams kept their core from S27 to S28. They kick people every week. This was a reasonable kick.

Tier 20? More like Tier 3, and if you need help figuring out what tiers are then here you go: T1: Those who can win tournaments (Astralis, NaVi, etc.) T2: Those who get invited and do alright in tournaments (Liquid, mousesports, fnatic, etc.) T3: Those who get shitted out of premier tournaments or those who qualify for said tournaments (ENCE, NiP, GHOST, etc.) If there even was a Tier 20, it would probably be a disbanded ESEA South African Open team.

Well, he certainly has shit the bed throughout his entire Premier/MDL tenure. At least in EU when FPL pugstars transition over to actual league/LAN play (Zwyoo, the Imperial boys, etc.) they are still forces that carry their teams. In NA, guys like s0m and Tenz haven't done (and mostly struggled) or accomplished shit.

Well thats basically like playing pugs imo .. pretty irrelevant You can't compare random 5 guys team without roles with a teams such as NRG / Liquid for example. They have some random IGL that can't even use the players properly.

If you think MDL teams are just "playing pugs" then you've clearly never watched it. A majority of those teams practice and scrim for like 10 hours a day, its not the open division lmao And if you've watched any of the teams, almost all of them have defined roles. These teams are vying for Pro league spots, it would make 0 sense for them to just play it as a pug.

Well i watched couple of them and all i see is silly mistakes , overpeek , stupid decisions. Not even close to the top20 teams nor EU CS.

S0m has barely played any MDL, and the same thing with Tenz. Comparing them to the imperial lineup is silly since Imperial had veterans on that roster to guide the players, such as Tenzki and KRYSTAL, and most of the young talent on that roster already had some experience such as Nexa and espiranto.

S0m and Tenz havent had till this day a real and consistent opportunity bro. Playing a couple of games with a mediocre team is like the others said playing a PUG more than having a real team where they can trully demostrate something. They're really young. They have time.

Again, playing as stand-ins for just some random games against MDL teams is not the same as playing in a regular basis in a MDL team grinding out the whole season. But ok whatever. S0m and Tenz like the rest of these kids have all the time in the world to prove ppl like you wrong.

" I don't think the scoreline really shows what was actually happening in the game. Yes we got dumpstered by both FaZe and SK, but we had a lot of situations, 5vs3s, 5vs2s that we just didn't convert. It was a big help because we were able to go and download those demos and actually review what happened, and now we have a lot of protocols in place that prevent those sort of situations from happening again." - Steel Fancy words from a delusional idiot
