MIBR ease past mousesports; advance to DHM Stockholm playoffs

A confident 2-0 victory over MOUZ (16-6 Mirage, 16-8 Inferno) sees MIBR clinch a playoff spot in Stockholm.

Four frags from Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David wasn't enough for MIBR to start the series against MOUZ with a pistol round win, as Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi replied with a quad kill of his own to give his side the early lead. With Chris "⁠chrisJ⁠" de Jong getting a double entry on B in the first gun round, the European side advanced their lead to 4-0.

The Brazilian-American squad replied with two rounds of their own after that, as MOUZ fumbled in advantageous situations. After being given an inch, MIBR put it into a higher gear and kept adding round after round to their name. Leading the fragging was coldzera, who had 18K-3D as his side took a 7-3 lead.

An unlikely retake from MIBR pushed their lead further, making it a 10-round streak. MOUZ snook in a round before half-time, making it 10-5, but losing the CT pistol and the ensuing force-buy limited their chances to get back into the game on Mirage. MOUZ only managed to grab one round on the CT side, but MIBR quickly responded and closed out the map 16-6.

Doubles from Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip and coldzera salvaged the CT pistol for MIBR, who were able to recover from a 3v5 deficit to take the early lead on Inferno. chrisJ's side found two rounds by breaking through the B defenses early on, but they were unable to tie anything together, allowing MIBR to grab a strong hold on the game (7-2).

MIBR's CT side was tight until the 12th round, when Tomáš "⁠oskar⁠" Šťastný took down two with the AWP to allow his side to add another round to the board. MOUZ finished the half with four, and after losing the pistol, won the force-buy to give themselves a chance to come back on the CT side (12-5).

After coldzera's eight kills in two rounds got MIBR to the brink of victory, 14-5, MOUZ finally woke up and started stringing rounds together, Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool's triple helping them build a strong economy as well. The Europeans were on eight rounds when Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik's double kill on the lurk got MIBR to match point, and the former Cloud9 member added a 1v4 clutch to his name in the followup to close out the game 16-8.
