Piotr "⁠morelz⁠" Taterka is Virtus.pro's new fifth player, the Russian organisation has announced.

The 24-year-old makes the transition from backup choice to a starting player following the departure of Paweł "⁠byali⁠" Bieliński in the aftermath of the team's elimination from the FACEIT Major in the New Challengers Stage.

morelz attended DreamHack Valencia and IEM Shanghai with the team as a stand-in following Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski's departure, averaging a 0.88 rating. He ended up joining the team as backup last month, when it was announced that Michał "⁠snatchie⁠" Rudzki had been signed from AGO to replace the MOUZ player.

Virtus.pro cut a frustrating figure at the Major, going out 0-3 in the opening stage after losing to Ninjas in Pyjamas, OpTic and North - with only one of those three teams eventually making it through to the New Legends Stage.

Some more changes could be in store for the Polish side, however, as Roman Dvoryankin, Virtus.pro's General Manager, reveals that, "over the course of September", the organisation will announce "the next steps that will allow Virtus.pro to return to the list of the world's best teams."

"We, just like our fans, are concerned about the roster's results, and can not remain idle in the face of two failed Majors in a row," Mr. Dvoryankin added.

"As for Piotr, I am sure that constant practice will accelerate his progress among the team's active roster even more."

morelz will make his first appearance as a full player for Virtus.pro at the end of the month as the team will compete at BLAST Pro Series Istanbul, on September 28-29.

With this addition, Virtus.pro now have:

its still 3v5 game after they sign morelz, michu snatchie and morelz against 5 enemy is not enough. they should kick pasha with neo and sign innocent for igl and some well polish aimer to have a chance to do anything. But it would be very different team, because its not vp anymore without byali pasha neo snax and taz.

Poor? Going from no team to most known and best paying Polish team is not poor. That's a huge chance for him - at the very least he'll gain experience. Pasha said in interview morelz is very happy for this opportunity and the whole team is ready to grind back to the top. If they are able to is a different story.
