SuperNova CS:GO Malta with $150,000; BIG, Virtus.pro first invitees

Quickfire has announced that it will host an invitational event called SuperNova CS:GO Malta, with eight teams in attendance and a $150,000 prize fund.

The event, the first of its kind in Malta, will run from November 29 through December 2 at the Intercontinental Arena Conference Centre, in Saint Julian's, a town in the country's Central Region.

The list of partners for the event, which will be co-produced with StarLadder, includes Air Malta, the country's flag carrier airline, the national tourism authority and Holiday Inn Express, with Simon De Cesare, CEO of the Eden Leisure Group, Quickfire's parent company, stating that he hopes the island "will become a top destination in the global esports circuit."

This four-day tournament will kick off with a double-elimination group stage, followed by the single-elimination playoffs. BIG, one of the quarter-finalists at the FACEIT Major, and Virtus.pro, who recently added Piotr "⁠morelz⁠" Taterka to their line-up, are the first two confirmed teams for the event, with the remaining participants due to be announced in the coming weeks, two at a time.
