Gambit open to Hobbit transfer

Gambit are ready to begin negotiations regarding the transfer of Abay "⁠HObbit⁠" Khassenov, the organization has announced.

Gambit and HObbit have come to an agreement that the 24-year-old "should gain an opportunity to prove himself in another team" following a two-year period with the organization.

He will be available for transfer from October 1, after Gambit return from ESL One New York, where they'll play with the current lineup on September 26-30.

The decision comes less than two weeks after the team's elimination from the FACEIT Major New Challengers stage, as Gambit placed 12th-14th with a 1-3 record in the Swiss format.

Throughout 2018, the Kazakh-Russian team has had mixed results, most notably placing last at three "Big Events" in a row: StarSeries i-League Season 5, ESL One Cologne, and DreamHack Masters Stockholm.
