Golden to miss first day of BLAST; valens to stand in

Cloud9's in-game leader Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim is unable to play at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen due to a medical situation, with their coach Soham "⁠valens⁠" Chowdhury set to replace him.

Just an hour before the matches in Copenhagen are set to kick-off, Cloud9 have revealed that Golden is unable to play today due to "a medical situation". No further comments have been made by the team or the player, except that they will play with their coach valens.

valens will replace the team's IGL in today's matches

According to the wording of the post, there is perhaps a chance that Golden will join the team tomorrow, but he surely won't be playing in the two opening games for his team, where Cloud9 will take on MIBR and Natus Vincere.

valens' time of competitive play ended in 2016, after leaving TSM, with the American only playing a couple of games for Cloud9 as a stand-in since.
