ESL to host ~$57,000 invitational in Bucharest

ESL has announced that it will host a four-team tournament in Bucharest early next month with €50,000 (~$57,000) on the line.

The tournament will be held at the Romexpo indoor arena as part of the Bucharest Gaming Week on December 9, one day after the finals of the ESL Southeast Europe Championship, the biggest league in the region.

The winner of the SEE league will be joined by two invitees and by the winner of an online qualifier in the tournament, which will feature a single-elimination, best-of-three format.

Four teams will square off for their cut of the €50,000 prize pool

The open qualifiers will be held on the next two Saturdays and will both have three spots in the closed stage up for grabs. The six qualified teams will be joined by two invitees local to the SEE scene in the closed qualifier, scheduled for November 26-28.

The prize money breakdown for the tournament is the following:

1. - €25,000 (~$28,555)
2. - €12,500 (~$14,275)
3-4. - €6,250 (~$7,135)

i attended cologne15 and cluj15, of course cologne was better, but cluj was nevertheless decent at least above other majors i saw on twitch, like london18, mlg16 or pgl17

You don't earn $5K in 2 days so time is not relevant. Money = Money, dumbass. It may not attract the best players in the world who earn $5K quite easily but it's still a good amount and will attract many Tier 2/3 teams.
