Astralis to ECS grand final over NiP

Astralis are through to the grand final at the ECS Season 6 Finals after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-1 in the semis (16-7 on Nuke, 11-16 on Train, 16-5 on Inferno).

Astralis squared off against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the first semi-final at the ECS Season 6 Finals. The best-of-three match kicked off on Nuke with the Danes starting on the CT-side. Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund found two opening kills to give Ninjas in Pyjamas the pistol round victory but Astralis won a 3vs5 in the following round to tie the game.

Astralis picked up four more to make it 5-1 but Ninjas in Pyjamas fought back and caught up to the Danish side (5-5). Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander & co. didn't let the Swedes get any more rounds in the first half and went on to end it with a 10-5 lead.

Astralis have made it to the grand final

Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen got a quad kill to win the second pistol and Astralis extended their lead to 12-5 after taking the following round. Despite winning the 18th round, Ninjas in Pyjamas lost a 5vs3 a round later to trail 13-6. Astralis closed out the map with a 16-7 scoreline.

Train began with Astralis taking the first four rounds on the T-side and Ninjas in Pyjamas hitting back with a nine round streak as CTs. Astralis got their fifth round thanks to a 2vs4 victory by Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif and Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz. The final round of the half also went to the Danes who trailed 9-6 following a quad kill by Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth.

NiP have gone out in 3-4th place

dupreeh secured the second pistol round with a triple kill and Astralis made it 9-8 after winning the anti-eco. Ninjas in Pyjamas reached double figures by winning the first weapon round thanks to GeT_RiGhT's triple kill (10-8).

From that point on, Ninjas in Pyjamas took charge and finished it off 16-11 to take the series to the third map. Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman played a crucial role in the map victory as he closed out post-plant situations in the 25th and 26th rounds.

Astralis will take on the winner of MIBR vs. North

The decider was Inferno where the CT-sided Astralis secured the first two rounds after Magisk found two opening kills on both occasions. The Danish squad picked up four more rounds before Ninjas in Pyjamas got on the board (6-1).

A quad kill by Xyp9x in the following round reset Ninjas in Pyjamas's economy and a 1vs2 by gla1ve in the 11th round made it 10-1. Fredrik "⁠REZ⁠" Sterner clutched a 1vs2 to earn Ninjas in Pyjamas their second but they couldn't get any more rounds on the T-side and Astralis led 13-2 at halftime.

Astralis lost the first two rounds in the second half but swiftly proceeded to win the map 16-5. With the 2-1 series victory, the Danes have advanced to the grand final at the ECS Season 6 Finals.
