Europe Minor Open Qualifier 4 - IEM Katowice 2019LDLC and Vitality round out Europe Minor Closed Qualifier team list
The last Europe Minor Open Qualifier was all about France as LDLC and Vitality were the ones to book their tickets to the next stage of the Minor qualifiers.
The last day of the last Europe Minor Open Qualifier was played out today, with three French teams in contention in the quarter-finals. Two of them, LDLC and Vitality, made it to the semi-finals after beating average25iqbutheadshots and 3DMAX respectively.
The other two semi-finalists were GUNRUNNERS, who took down Red Reserve on Train (16-12) and 2019, who beat the Finns of HAVU by the slimmest of margins, 16-14, on Dust2. The bracket then had GUNRUNNERS and Vitality facing off on one side and LDLC against 2019 on the other, for two places in the next round.
LDLC, one of the favorites to qualify, kicked off their semi-final off against 2019 on Mirage winning the CT-side by the slimmest of margins, 8-7. The French-Belgian team kept their lead after winning the T-side pistol round, and started to run away with it after resetting 2019 in the fourth round to make it 12-8 ahead of an anti-eco. Finally, they won the map out 16-8.
LDLC then took a 4-0 lead on the attacking side of Train, although it was finally 2019 who were able to win the half, albeit by only one round, 8-7. Despite losing the pistol round, 2019 managed to take the lead midway through the second half, but it was finally LDLC who were able to fine-tune their CT side to stop the European team and qualify for the the next round of matches, 16-13.

The Vitality vs. GUNRUNNERS match kicked off on Mirage where despite losing the first pistol round and the following eco, Vitality were able to win the first half on defense, 10-5, before increasing their lead to 12-5 after taking the two first rounds on the attack. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut had a huge impact on the map, with 31 frags in 25 rounds, helping his team close it out 16-9.
Dust2 started off with GUNRUNNERS once again taking the lead, but this time around Vitality won the forcebuy on the back of a four kill round by Cédric "RpK" Guipouy. Frome there on out the French team was in the driver’s seat the whole time, taking the first half 12-3. After winning the second pistol round, Vitality went on to close it out cleanly, 16-3.
