fnatic have accepted an invitation to compete at iBUYPOWER Masters, the event's organisers have announced.

The news brings the team count to three, following the announcements of Astralis and Luminosity, with only five invites now left to be revealed.

fnatic, who returned to the top 10 in the rankings following in Monday's update, were last seen at PLG Grand Slam, where they claimed the title after beating G2 2-0 in the final.

fnatic confirmed at iBUYPOWER Masters 2019

It was fnatic's very first LAN title since signing Simon "⁠twist⁠" Eliasson and Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin from Red Reserve, with Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström stating his belief after the final that the future for the team "is really, really good".

iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 will take place at the Avalon Theater Hollywood, in Los Angeles, on January 19-20. Eight top teams will be duking it out for their share of a $200,000 prize pool - a record fee in the history of iBUYPOWER tournaments.

moronic arguments tbh. fnatic got an invite over iem chicago despite being ranked the #26 team in the world at the time. they went straight to the semis because liquid threw the match against them to avoid astralis in the semis. they played eunited and another shite team i cant be arsed to remember on their way to the semis. alsmot means nothing in cs. mibr almost beat astralis. liquid and na vi took maps off of astralis. they havent beaten them simple as that. they barely won against forze and barely on against g2 that should be enough to prove that their chicago run was a fluke. (and they do have god krimz in the end) even tho im a fan of the na scene, players and its team let me rebuttal your dumb argument. woxic is one of the best rated players on lan this year. space soldiers despite their shortcomings from org and their location(ping issues)made it to the actual major. made it to epl and made it to epl lan. fnatic meanwhile got rescued by esl to avoid relegation. they made 4 or 5 lans at the start of the year by qualifying to them. they won against sk last year when they were the best. fnatic as you can remember lost to astralis in the end. nt tho

it will be t1 tournament if they can get some of faze, navi, mibr, liquid, nip, c9 etc who are not playing minors. only teams who are in major or failed to qualify for minor will be in that event.

There are 8 spots. only non minor playing teams are available.There goes nrg,mouz and north.So possible teams upto top 11 can be invited.Fnatic was already top 11 for a while. All top teams might not even go.So a NA team who is available got the pick. Pretty sure mibr and liquid also go to this event since its in NA and its preparation for the new roster before the major.There you have 4 out of top 10 teams with 3 more invites which can include c9,complexity and another good team from EU

Can see where esports is heading. Pretty soon there will be no qualifiers for any team and only the top orgs will get to go to the events. Would be so hard for a new org to break in to the business, what top org would play them? How would they even get known? Then you will just a bunch of over paid players that just want to lose as fast as possible so they can go spend their money.
