nex steps down from BIG; to undergo surgery

BIG have revealed that Johannes "⁠nex⁠" Maget has stepped down from the active roster, as he needs to undergo surgery due to wrist pain.

The announcement follows Saturday's signing of Ismailcan "⁠XANTARES⁠" Dörtkardeş to BIG, which was shrouded in uncertainty, as the organization did not specify whom the Turk would be replacing on the active roster.

The German organization has now added that nex has been suffering from wrist pain and that both sides decided after ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals that he would withdraw from competitive play in order to undergo treatment, which will include surgery, thus stepping down from the team.

BIG has also confirmed that XANTARES is a permanent addition to the roster, which puts nex's future in the team in doubt.

"After a very turbulent and successful year 2018, we want to aim even higher in the upcoming periods. For months, Johannes "nex" Maget has been suffering from wrist pain, which affected his performance," BIG's CEO, Daniel Finkler, said in the announcement.

"After the ESL Pro League Finals in Odense, we mutually decided that he will now go for professional treatment in Berlin. Everybody in BIG wishes him a speedy recovery, and we will provide him with every support needed until he is ready to play again.

"With Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardes we have signed one of the world's best players with outstanding talent, who will be a permanent addition to the team. Welcome to BIG, XANTARES!"

Honestly I've never followed xantares/ss and I pretty much havent watched many of their games besides the used to be el clasico of balkan scene Gplay vs SS. I was just pointing out that learning the basics of english while just playing cs is relatively easy.

sounds like a good idea to me but we will see...as bad as tizian can be sometimes he also had some huge maps where he fragged hard and helped win. nex seemed to only go huge in the easy games where everyone was doing good, but choke in clutches and important maps...

IDK why anyone would wanna kick tizian...at first I wasnt sure about him, but if ppl look only at stats they might want him gone but I have seen plenty of matches he made BIG win. nex on the other hand seemed to cost them more than win him, his big #s only came on the dominant games everyone was fragging but in the hard games he dissapears. tizian has had some really big moments and despite some bad games Im looking forward to seeing BIG with xantares I think it will only make tizian and tabsen better

i watch a lot of big matches and can tell that tizian is doing great. And it is indeed the role of support, or rather the positions hes playing. Usually last alive on t-side or first contact (hardest to play) ct hes anchoring spots which is really hard to play as well. so having 1.00 rating for that is decent imo.

+1 great support, once in a while wins a match carrying hard. he is BIGs Styko

+1 watched all of BiGs Matches and can say the same. He has the hardest role as anchor, entry and clutch player. He often drops the better weapon to tabsen or nex as well. He should keep the AK more often when he picks one up though. I see him dink players so often (he actually has great first bullet accuracy and good hs rates) and them surviving lucky on low hp, its kind of frustrating.
