Before we start revealing our list of the 20 best players of 2018, we take a look at the last five years and give tribute to the best individuals in CS:GO history.

HLTV.org's first Top 20 players list was released back in 2010, during the Counter-Strike 1.6 era. The list has been created every year since then, barring 2012, which was a transition year between 1.6 and Global Offensive.

For this infographic, we only took into account the CS:GO Top 20 selections, commemorating the elite players of the last five years. Take a look at the image below to remember the best players of each year, see which countries are the most successful and learn who the youngest and oldest players to make the Top 20 list are.

Im pretty sure its much higher because its rating 1.0 and not 2.0 i think they started use that start of 2016 but its way more harder team these days so S1mple's rating is insane for this year even tho i personaly think this year was kinda weak compared to 2015 and 2017

thats cuz team achievements matter. for the longest time the best NA players were in different teams and not the best players in 1 team. the col NA superteam was suppose to change that but ibp got banned and that ruined everything. its getting better now as u can see with liquid where the stars r on one team and twistzz, naf, and elige will prob be in top 20

GTR 1.30 rating, f0rest 1.27 rating in 2013 and f0rest playing in a harder role entrying with friberg while GTR getting those numbers killing players behind their back every game. GTR for sure #1 in 2013, but not the insane hard carry everyone thinks he is, f0rest was extremely good too!
