Envy and FURIA secure wins at Americas Minor

Envy and FURIA are through to the Americas Minor group B winners' bracket at the expense of TeamOne and eUnited, respectively.

Group B's opening match saw Envy face off against TeamOne on Dust 2. A successful pistol on the CT side set the stone rolling, as initial aggression from the Brazilian side was met with relentless retaliation, extending Envy's lead to 8-2. Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen spearheaded his team's effort to a secure a strong CT half, topping the scoreboard for Envy come its conclusion at 12-3.

The US-majority team proceeded to roll over their opponents, as a consecutive pistol round went in the way of Envy, this time on the T side of affairs. Two rounds fell in their lap following the pistol, with Josh "⁠jdm64⁠" Marzano converting a 1v2 situation in the nineteenth round, concluding Dust2 at a dominant 16-3.

The second match of group B was played out on Inferno between North and South American representatives, eUnited and FURIA. The SA squad secured the first three rounds of the half off the back of a successful CT-side pistol that saw Kaike "⁠KSCERATO⁠" Cerato land a 3k. The eUnited offense followed up with three of their own, however FURIA's holds were impenetrable after this fragile period, securing the team five consecutive rounds at 8-3. More of the prior was seen in the remainder of the initial half, as FURIA conceded but a single round, looking at an 11-4 surplus going into their T half.

The South American squad targeted the A site in the second pistol, cracking it open with a fast hit, followed by an opponent clean up, as well as a bomb plant. The dominance persisted past eUnited's eco rounds, as the North American reps were unable to effectively deal with FURIA's tactical mind games in their first buy round, placing the Ts on map point at 15-4. Contrary to their previous performance, eUnited ground out the following seven rounds in consecutive fashion, unfortunately unable to push the map outside of regulation, as FURIA closed out in round 27 at 16-11.
