ESL LA League Season 3 Brazil set to start

The Brazilian division of the third season of ESL LA League will kick off this Monday, with eight teams vying for two spots at the offline finals.

Running from Monday through Friday this week, the tournament will begin with a double-elimination group stage, featuring a best-of-one format only in the opening round, with the top two sides from both groups progressing to the semi-finals.

The two teams coming out of the semi-finals will earn spots at the offline finals, to be held in São Paulo in early March, where they will be joined by the winners of the other LA League divisions, called 'Northern Cone' and 'Southern Cone', featuring teams from other South American countries.

Sharks will aim for their third LA League title

The top two sides of the ESL LA League finals will qualify for the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 9 Americas, which will be played exclusively on LAN following the recent overhaul of the league's format with a view to alleviating the problem of oversaturation in the scene.

Sharks, the winners of the first two seasons and the highest-ranked side in attendance, are highly favoured to finish in the top two, with Imperial - who were in attendance at the recent Americas Minor, Isurus and paiN also among the favourites.

They are. Note how only 2 sides are going to qualify for the LAN phase. And it's 4 team in LATAM group. Probably INTZ and MIBR are the other ones.

sorry, mate, just checked the facts. Mibr and INTZ are considered NA teams. What happens is that LA League Brazil, this time, will have a finals phase, in which the 2 best from BR, plus the best of nouthern (peru, equador, etc) and the best of the southern cone (argentina, uruguai, etc) will battle for 2 spots to the LATAM group. The other 2 spots are going to be from Latin America North and Latin America South (wherever that hell is this that is not considered in the southern cone of LA League).

Actually méxico is from central américa, but they play in NA because there's no competition on Central America. Same as SA, just brazilians, and a few bunch of other countries (Argentina, Uruguay, and chile)
