Magisk: "I've been focusing a bit more on my individual level"

To close out our coverage of IEM Katowice, we have interviewed the Most Valuable Player, Emil "Magisk" Reif, about Astralis becoming back-to-back Major champions.

Astralis pulled off their second Major win in a row following a confident run to the title, beating ENCE in a convincing grand final affair featuring a 16-11 win on Train and a 16-4 debacle on Inferno.

Magisk led the team to the triumph, adding the first Major MVP medal to his tally, the second overall following Astralis' previous title-winning campaign at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon at the end of 2018.

We spoke to the MVP after the grand final to ask him about becoming a back-to-back Major champion, about his improved individual level as of late, and got his thoughts on teams who could potentially challenge the Danes as 2019 progresses.

It's good that CS worked out so well for Magisk. His plan B for a career was being an enforcer for the mob afaik. So great he just ended up shooting people in a game.

Well he made his way all by himself not so long ago he was performing promisingly and was kicked from north and astralis found him crying in a room with a north jersey and they were -1 at that time so everything just clicked and here he is with 2x majors and intel grand slam!

Magisk is a sick player and he seems to only get better. He thrives more than most on confidence and success which is why his performance has only increased under Astralis. On Optic and North he wasn't nearly as good as now, partly because the success of the team was lacking, i believe.
