WESG World Finals day two recap
Groups E through H of the WESG World finals duked it out on day two, deciding the final eight participants of the playoffs.
Day two of the WESG World finals witnessed the conclusion of the group stage as the remaining teams faced off in a best-of-two setting against their group opponents, deciding the eight sides who will conclude the lineup of playoff participants.
Group E saw Windigo and fnatic ascend to the playoff bracket at the expense of Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas', Movistar Riders. The Spanish squad was bested 0-2 by the Bulgarians in the opening series, with a 16-4 thrashing on Train being followed by a 19-16 affair on Mirage. As for the favourites of the group, fnatic, the Swedes drew both of their series 1-1, securing a sufficient record to qualify for the playoffs, although they will not be pleased to have the second seed.

Over in Group F, Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov and company were the first to secure a playoff spot following flawless performances against WARDELL N Friends and Imperial, with Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov averaging a 1.35 rating in both series. The second place went to Panda, who came out on top of a two-way tie with Imperial due to having a better round record after picking up a surprise 2-0 win over Russia.

Fans from Ukraine and the Philippines rejoiced, as Group G saw Ukraine and TNC emerge above their competition. Sergey "starix" Ischuk's squad landed an incredibly close, albeit flawless 2-0 performance against TNC, with both Dust2 and Cache seeing all 30 rounds. This was followed by a tie against local representatives, 5POWER, who were able to dismantle the Ukrainian squad 16-5 on Mirage but fell short on Dust2, 13-16. TNC blitzed ENZO 16-6 in both of their maps, and, after tying with 5POWER, secured a placement in the playoffs.
Concluding affairs was Group H, where Alpha Red reigned supreme with two victories and one draw. Chiefs were one of the biggest disappointments of this group stage, finishing outside of the qualification places after losing 0-2 to Viva Algeria in their final match.
