Cloud9 confirmed at BLAST Pro Series Madrid

Cloud9 will compete at BLAST Pro Series Madrid, the North American organisation announced on Friday.

The ELEAGUE Major Boston champions, who will also be in attendance at next week's BLAST Pro Series event in Miami, are the fourth team confirmed for the Spanish competition, joining Astralis, Natus Vincere and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Cloud9 have been out of action since the IEM Katowice Major, where they finished in 9th-11th place. After the event in Poland, the team underwent a major overhaul, bringing back Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim and picking up Daniel "⁠vice⁠" Kim and René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg.

Cloud9 will attend the BLAST Pro Series event in the Spanish capital

Those changes saw Cloud9 plummet to 138th in the rankings after losing the core of the lineup with which they had picked up most of their recent points.

BLAST Pro Series Madrid will be held on May 10-11, with $250,000 on the line. There is now just one invite left to reveal as the final team will be determined by the Play-in qualifier, featuring some of the best sides in the Iberian Peninsula.

Someone mentioned early that TL will skip events. I'm taking that in consideration. About ENCE, I think if they were to be invited, they would've already received it. But I'm not discarding it either. Should they win StarLadder tho, might be granted a spot. Because, as someone else said, BLAST probably considers brand exposure.
