Cloud9 claim final DreamHack Masters Dallas invite

Cloud9 have accepted an invitation to compete at DreamHack Masters Dallas, the event's organisers announced on Friday.

The North American giants have been added to the field of the $250,000 tournament, bringing the current team count to 14.

Cloud9 are currently trying to find their feet after making three changes to their line-up in the weeks that followed the IEM Katowice Major, bringing back Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim and picking up Daniel "⁠vice⁠" Kim and René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg.

Cloud9 will jet off to Dallas next month

The team will be making their first appearance with the new roster later on Friday, at BLAST Pro Series Miami. Between those two North American events, they will be in action in Group C of ESL Pro League Americas, from April 19-21, and at BLAST Pro Series Madrid, on May 10-11.

DreamHack Masters Dallas will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center from May 28 to June 2. The last two spots in this 16-team tournament will be determined by the Chinese and the Asian closed qualifiers, the first of which is already underway.

I have no Idea why Astralis would prefer the Blast Pro Series over the Intel Grand Slam. They should attend atleast two out of IEM Sydney, DHM Dallas, ESL One Cologne, EPL Finals until the Next Major, or they won't get that many chances to get the IGS Prize money.

Astralis winning intel grand slam season 2 in June after won katowice,sydney,dallas,epl no thanks. Attend some shit tier blast pro series with shit format and shit prizepool yes of course. They used to play 4 events in one month(november-early december 2018) and won 3 of them.It's frustrating because I want to watch perfect cs outplaying others not tier 2 teams winning events with making shit tons of mistakes because astralis is not attending.If astralis somehow loses grand slam s2 it's because they're lazy.

I got the fact why Astralis declined Sydney and Dallas - they are fucking tired of this shit, but i have no idea of why NaVi did the same. They had fucking perfect opportunity to win 2 IGS tournaments and give a real fight to Astralis. But now we will see how Some tier 2 trash winning an IGS event cuz fucking Liquid Chokes against weak teams.

Maybe, but TL almost gets outplayed by HR at the Faceit Major QF and by LDLC at IEM Chicago also lost vs ENCE at Katowice. So, that's make sense.

tbh, DHM finishes 2nd june. They wont be able to fly out at least until late on the 3rd June, if not more likely 4th. They have ECS starting 6th June they already qualified for, and there is gonna be a media day there before as well, so essentially no rest days between DHM and ecs, and then pro league later in June aswell. So although I want to see them win everything, I sort of understand it from their perspective. Also they could be sneaky beaky giving other teams chance to get to 3 IGS wins just to make extra money by denying it every time they play :P

LUL all the people crying, It is not as if invite was decided today, pretty obviously they were already invited some time ago like all the other teams, even if invite was decided according to hltv ranking they were top 10 after the major and hltv lineup had 3 same players as now back then so actually expected invite looking back in time no matter if they used esl or HLTV ranking was it fair or not.
