G2 crush GamerLegion; to Charleroi Esports semis

The last semi-final spot at Charleroi Esports was taken by G2, who secured a confident 2-0 win over GamerLegion (16-4 Nuke, 16-6 Overpass) to book a match against Vitality tomorrow.

The Group B decider at Charleroi Esports saw G2 take on GamerLegion, with the first map being Nuke, G2's pick. Starting on the T side, they managed to establish control after an initial period which saw some force-buys traded back and forth (6-1). GamerLegion then mustered a tight round thanks to Hampus "hampus" Poser, and followed it up with two more to make the round deficit just two.

However, the tide of the game shifted after that, with Kenny "kennyS" Schrub and Richard "shox" Papillon taking the reigns and pulling their team out of some difficult situations to streak together five more rounds before the end of the half (11-4). GamerLegion's T-side pistol was quickly shut down thanks to Lucas "Lucky" Chastang who grabbed a double with an incendiary, and after that, it was just a matter of time before G2 closed it out, with the final score being 16-4.

shox and kennyS stood out on Nuke

The action then moved to Overpass, where GamerLegion bagged a 3-0 start after winning the Terrorist pistol, only to get shut down by Audric "JACKZ" Jug's AUG 4K in the first rifle round. G2 looked like the better team from that point ownards, with Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans' side claiming only two more rounds before the end of the half, finishing it 10-5 down.

A much-needed pistol round for GamerLegion came down to the 1v1 after plant on A, but didn't go their way as François "amanek" Delaunay took down Ex6TenZ and pushed his side towards a big lead. At 13-5, GamerLegion locked down the approaches to win a fairly clean round, but G2 answered back shortly with a kennyS triple before closing out the second map 16-6, and the series 2-0.

His frags don't matter, NiKo is often topfragging, it doesn't make him a great IGL.

If you regard ScreaM as a star player - answer just one question: does he still go second to sites on the T side? I mean, that's the only thing he could ever do - send a bait, get to know where the opponents are and draw their attention to the bait, and then come second and get himself some 'edshots. So, is he used like that? If not - then he is not used like he should've been and no surprise he sucks. If you don't need a secondary entry - don't pick ScreaM.

I'm not just referring to scream, I'm referring to nawwk as well. He's supposed to be a beast but he was extremely underwhelming last night

Unless you're s1mple, you can't do whatever you want. That's why some weirdos used to appreciate Ex6TenZ for "utilizing" kennyS. Why weirdos and why "utilizing"? Because you do not appreciate Zeus for "utilizing" s1mple - s1mple gets all those frags because he's the best player in the world, and kennyS at that time was the best AWPer, and Ex6TenZ failed to use the others to actually achieve something with kennyS. But back to the point. You need to investigate what your opponents do, how they play, and set up strats exactly to counter your opponents' strong qualities. nawwk does what Ex6TenZ tells him to, and if nawwk fails to perform - it may be not only due to his having a bad day, but also because of Ex6tenZ' failure to put the players in the right places and tell them how to counter their enemies. And tbh - G2 is still kennyS and shox, the rest are not stars at all, and shox should be worse than Ex6 at calling, so if you're really a great IGL you should counter-strat shox and at least make your team do some damage, instead GL won 10 rounds out of 42. Yeah sure Ex6 doesn't have stars, but he did have stars in 2014-15, then they left him and won majors, and if ScreaM performs in previous teams and sucks under Ex6 - it means Ex6 fails to use his strength correctly, thus Ex6 is a failure.
