fnatic invited to ESL One Cologne 2019

fnatic have been issued a direct invite to participate at ESL One Cologne 2019.

The Swedish squad are the seventh roster to receive an invite, set to join fifteen other participants in contending for the $300,000 tournament, held in the iconic Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany on July 2-7.

No strangers to the event, fnatic will return to the tournament for a sixth consecutive year, looking to recreate the first place finish a former iteration of the squad achieved in a distant 2015, having beaten the former Envy quintet in the grand final.

fnatic will look to secure their share of $300,000 come July

In addition to a sizeable prize pool, ESL Cologne is the fifth event of 2019 that will offer teams the chance to secure a point towards the second season of the Intel Grand Slam.

i think there are too many invite spots in the first place - NiP, MIBR, fnatic dont deserve the invite imo, they are just big names currently. - BIG only "deserves" it because they were in the finals last time, they more or less earned it - Astralis and Navi deserve it obviously, faze starts looking pretty good again. I'd invite Astralis, Liquid, Navi , Faze, Ence - the current top 5 BIG too, because ESL One events always have one local team (and as i said they were in the finals last time) washed up MIBR, NiP and fnatic should then get invites to closed qualifier at best and fight for a spot, for the rest its open qualifiers

vitality and mouz are pretty new, exciting rosters with good results early on. that fnatic roster is stale and is pretty disappointing most of the time but as i said, they all should go through qualifiers
