DETONA to skip Americas Minor SA closed qualifier

DETONA have withdrawn from the South American closed qualifier for the Americas Minor, team member André "⁠tiburci0⁠" Rossetto has revealed.

The announcement was made in the aftermath of DETONA's 2-0 victory over W7M in the grand final of the Brazilian qualifier for Esportal Global Finals, a €30,000 ($33,800) tournament that will be held at Inferno Online, in Stockholm, on June 7-8.

With the Minor qualifier running from June 4-6, DETONA - who would have to field a stand-in due to star player Vinicius "vsm" Moreira's VAC ban - opted to skip the tournament to focus on preparing for the Swedish event.

AVEZ and Lyngby Vikings are the other two teams so far confirmed for the Esportal Global Finals. The last team will come from the German qualifier, which is currently underway.

DETONA will remain in Sweden after the event and will fly straight to Montpellier for the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, for which they qualified after topping round one's Latin American group, beating Isurus, Infinity and Denial.

Contacted by HLTV.org, StarLadder noted that DETONA's replacement will be announced at a later date. The team list for the qualifier currently looks as follows:

no one is asking whether you cheated or not. 12 year olds don't usually have great morals as their brains aren't fully developed. It's the same reason why minors in most countries don't get charged with crimes the same way adults do.

it's not that he doesn't know what's right and wrong, obviously he knew it was wrong. Even so, as I said, it's the same reason why kids that age aren't tried as adults when they commit crimes. They don't have a full understanding of consequences and what their actions mean to the full extent that an adult does.

Because people are not supposed to be punished for life for something they did when they were kids. Valve's ban culture is a failure and is not a reference to any other game.

Valve made it clear that breaking the rules will result in a severe punishment. By banning him, Valve is setting an example of what not to do. The same happened to Swag and iBP players.
