DETONA's SA closed qualifier slot to be filled via round of four

StarLadder has announced that DETONA's slot in the South American closed qualifier for the Americas Minor will be determined by a four-team stage.

The slot will be taken by the winner of a last-chance stage featuring the four teams who crashed out in the quarter-finals of the second open qualifier, scheduled for May 23-24.

The team to emerge on top of the small tournament, commencing as soon as the quarter-finals of the open qualifier have been played out, will be replacing DETONA, who pulled out of the closed qualifier after securing a spot at the Esportal Global Finals, a LAN tournament in Stockholm with over $33,000 on offer.

The fifth remaining slot will be determined via a round of four tournament

Scheduled for June 4-6, the South American closed qualifier will see 16 teams square off for two spots at the Americas Minor, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, from July 17-21.

I'd say that vsm's ban is the reason why they attended the Esportal Global qualifiers in the first place. DETONA were supposed to play in the Minor qualifier despite vsm being ineligible.

mitos lost to red canids, all knights lost to segura o bone, 9z lost to a team that lost to neverest, furious had internet problems and had to play 4v5 vs pain fe and lost in overtime

Didn't know that. Bo1 or something like that then. But it seems stupid to have only Brazilian teams playing a South America qualifier. Even if it's pointless and nobody will make to the major anyway.

It's not relevant to HLTV but it's relevant the fact valve applied a BAN to a player that was a kid when cheated in the game. I understand Valve but this is not fair. It's not even close to gambling or cheating like KQLY. I hope they review it in the future to allow v$m and others to play their tournaments.
