NRG add stanislaw; bench daps

Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz has replaced Damian "⁠daps⁠" Steele in NRG's active lineup, the North American organization announced on Tuesday.

stanislaw recently parted ways with Complexity following a 14-month stint during which the team most notably achieved a top-eight finish at the FACEIT Major in London.

The 25-year-old Canadian player will take the place of his fellow countryman daps, who joined the organization back in December 2016. During his time with NRG, daps and company won IEM Shanghai 2018 and cs_summit 3. In his statement, daps revealed that his current situation is "unclear" and that he is "open to any offers in any field".

stanislaw did not spend much time as a free agent

NRG currently occupy the #7 slot in the World Ranking, having achieved a string of 3-4th placements at IEM Sydney, cs_summit 4, and ECS Season 7 Finals.

stanislaw will make his debut in the Americas Minor North America closed qualifier, which is set to kick off on June 12. They will also attend a myriad of offline events in the upcoming weeks, including the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, ESL One Cologne, and BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles.

Stan beat Nrg on major which had firepower shoulders above of that one from COL. You wont beat way more talented lineup with bad igl. Maybe guys didnt like him or something, but he is very talented igl to sat the least. With Insane talent that Nrg have i can see them doing great.

Maybe cocky players dont want igl that is strict, one that like discipline. Lot of players are just kids who dont like being commanded so they dont fully trust igls that want to put them in certain roles, certain positions. Lets wait and see.

I don't think trusting Stan is the issue. He's a decent leader but he loses rounds to over aggression pretty often, and that's an issue which needs to be addressed in his play.

Anyone who gives a rats ass about the nationality of the team and not about the best possible roster they could make using players from all nationalities obviously doesn't care about the team's success. C9 had no where to go in NA, and thus they branched out in EU and it's been mostly for the better tbh anyone they could have picked up in the NA scene at the time was no where near ready to compete at C9's level. The only NA player rn I think C9 should have their sights on is TenZ.

Yes stanislaw had way worse players on complexity and despite that fact they made some great runs on 2018 under his leadership Cerq Brezhe and Ethan were not at NRG when daps first came.Nrg with those 3 and daps,they almost never won if one of them or even 2 didn't go insane 30 frags on a game.

NRG is really trying hard to get low rank and getting good and up-and-comming players to never wanna play for them. How long didn't they have the same 5-man roster grinding from 40-50th rank to top 10 rank? What was the thanks? kick one and add a washup. Next move: remove the most important part of the puzzle and replace him with a good IGL but that will make so much changes that the 3 remaining players won't have any stability. This team will most likely drop. NRG with Fugly + Daps could have been solidified as #2 in NA Now they should be happy if they are top 10 NA

Unexpected, daps is the guy who brought them structure and is really invested in having a team routine and such (to build chemistry just like in Astralis). While on the other hand, stanislaw is the total opposite. He likes to do stuff on the fly, doesn't really bring structure.. Maybe they will try to help stanislaw have both sides ... Structure, on-the-fly calls & better prep overall... Weird move considering how structured NRG are. Hoping the players can adapt.

This move worries me, Stanislaw has a pretty individual heavy IGL style where he places himself in a lot of good positions and can frag as result (I don't actually think he's much better than daps individually), just slightly. Stan doesn't have a good track record of setting up and enabling teammates, mostly just himself. I see this backfiring and most NRG players becoming less effective and them ultimately tanking down a bit in ranking.

I feel like getting Autimatic from C9 in for daps, and then moving daps to coach (and having tarik suck it up and IGL) would have been the ideal scenario (though I'm not sure if that was possible to buy him out). I'm not a fan of this Stan move, seems like too much of a risk with his track record and questionable attitude. I don't see this benefiting NRG long-term. They may see some short-term interim good results, but I doubt it'll last and it will be back to the same old.

Cerq isn't a native english speaker though, so I doubt you can say that he's the core of the team. Someone that is from NA like autimatic would be better for NRG just due to communication alone. It's always favorable to have 5 players that speak the same native language as it will just be better for overall team comms, organization, and structure. Take a team like ENCE for example. Cerq is probably the odd guy out next on this one if things don't immediately start going well for NRG after this roster swap; and I think they'll want to try a full NA roster and take a shot at getting autimatic.
