GamerLegion to Moche XL final over FURIA

GamerLegion beat FURIA in two maps, Inferno (16-11) and Vertigo (16-12), and will face Windigo in the Moche XL grand final.

FURIA kicked inferno off winning the pistol round on the attacking side, but they then ran into a wall on B as GamerLegion were able to take the Brazilian players down with upgraded pistols to get on the board. The European combine were then able to further their lead after the first gun round to 3-1.

FURIA then won three in a row of their own before GamerLegion brought it back to 4-4. A 3vs5 turned 2vs2 afterplant for FURIA ended up with Kaike "⁠KSCERATO⁠" Cerato winning a 1vs1 against Kevin "⁠HS⁠" Tarn to take the lead back. The match evened out again at 6-6, but a final sprint by Kévin "⁠Ex6TenZ⁠" Droolans and company gave the European side a 9-6 lead.

The second half started with a big four-kill round by Tim "⁠nawwk⁠" Jonasson, including a 1vs3 clutch, but after winning against the forcebuy, GamerLegion then lost to a full eco with some upgraded pistols, which put FURIA in charge of the early second half rounds. After getting over their struggles with economy, however, GamerLegion not only kept their lead but went on to win FURIA’s pick, 16-11.

GamerLegion were able to close the match out in two maps

FURIA started on the CT side of Vertigo, and after winning the first pistol round became the sole team on the server as none of GamerLegion’s attacks were able to be turned into points on the scoreboard. On the eighth round the Europeans were able to finally get on the board following three entry kills by HS.

FURIA then got one more to win the half but another three-kill round, this time by nawwk in an afterplant, gave GamerLegion a second. The half then turned itself on its head as the European squad dominated to bring it back to 7-8 before the half.

Three crucial kills by Ex6TenZ to stop an A play by FURIA in the second pistol round tied it up before GamerLegion took the lead by winning the anti-eco. After losing the first four rounds, and trailing 8-11, FURIA were able to get back on the board. The match evened out at 12-12, but GamerLegion got a crucial win to push FURIA on an eco the following round. With the late lead, GamerLegion were able to hold strong on defense and close out the map and match, 16-12.

When you win 11/12 it comes down to luck, clutches partly skill based but there are so many factors that it often comes down to luck. The only reason Furia won against north and astralis are literally because of winning all the clutches, so i doubt we will see that again.

In fact, in the last 12 months xyp won "only" 72% of his 1v1. And as you can see here, if Furia dont win all the clutches in these close matches, they dont win.

That were 11 clutches in 5 maps, I think you watched only the hilights. I think it's wrong say "it was only luck" in these proportions when talking about professionals. Gen 5 has a special place in my heart not gonna lie lol, probably cuz it’s the first time I tried competitive plays with EVs and all that. I agree with what happened afterwards, I grew up playing these games too but I totally lost interest when they decided to make big changes like mega evolution, new forms, etc.

Definitely ! If only they had taken even more time to develop the gameplay and region / precise area designs instead But you know what brings down Unova compared to Hoenn and Sinnoh for me? It's the design of the region. Don't get me wrong it gets the job done but it doesn't feel natural and adventurous like the other two for me, the rest is fine though, good quality game
