Liquid round out ESL One Cologne 2019 team list

Following their 2-0 victory over G2 in the grand final of the GG.BET Cologne Invitational, Liquid have secured the final spot at ESL One Cologne 2019.

The grand final of the GG.BET Cologne Invitational saw Liquid bag a victory on their map pick, Overpass. The aqueous quintet kicked off on the offense, dominating both the early and the mid-stages of the half, securing a 7-3 lead. Towards the latter stages, G2 found their footing, bringing the deficit to three rounds by the end of the half.

The defence saw a fairly comprehensive closure for Liquid, as a pistol victory was succeeded by three rounds. G2 dealt their last blows on the T side after securing rifles, but then the North Americans regained control of proceedings and secured a 16-8 victory.

nitr0 and his squad will be seen competing in Cologne come July

Nuke proceeded to be fruitful for Liquid, who started on the defence and, despite losing the first pistol, managed to upset in the following round, subsequently snowballing to an 8-1 lead. A brawl ensued, as G2 desperately tried to put together as many rounds as possible, producing but an additional three over the remainder of the half.

The second half pistol round went in favour of Liquid, but G2 were able to prevent the game from snowballing out of control, instead assuming the driver's seat for the coming five rounds. Despite a formidable effort from the Frenchmen, the lead accrued by Liquid proved to be too much, as the American roster secured their slot in Cologne with a 16-12 victory on Nuke.

So if Liquid did accept the initial invite, you think this qualifier would still exist? Why not just invite G2 with the last invite spot leftover? Edit: Wait, there wouldn't even be a spot left over if Liquid did accept the initial invite, so G2 should've been at the EU qualifier, but no invite to it for some reason. They are lucky they got an opportunity to fight for a spot anyway.
