ESL Pro League S9 Finals reach playoffs

The group stage of the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals is now behind us and the field of competitors has been cut down to six.

The tournament will now move to the Sud de France Arena, where the remaining contestants will duke it out in front of a crowd over the next three days for the grand prize of $250,000.

With NRG and MOUZ lying in wait in the semi-finals after topping their respective groups, the single-elimination bracket will kick off with hometown favourites G2 taking on FaZe.

Liquid and Astralis will face off in the quarter-finals

The playoffs have also set up what feels like an early final as Liquid and Astralis, the current top two teams in the world, will fight for their tournament survival, with this being the first series between the two since the BLAST Pro Series São Paulo final, almost three months ago.

Jesus, the one side of the bracket looks substantially stronger than the other. Means that there's a good chance whoever wins between Liquid/Astralis/mousesports will likely win the tournament. Too bad one of those isn't able to pair for the Bo5.
