BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen announced; four invites revealed

The Danish event featuring Liquid and Astralis has been announced with a $250,000 prize pool.

Alongside the top two teams in the world, Liquid and Astralis, BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen will also feature last year's runners-up, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and champions, Natus Vincere.

The tournament will use BLAST's classic format, a best-of-one, round-robin group stage that culminates with a best-of-three grand final between the top two sides.

BLAST will return to the Royal Arena

The first two group stage rounds will be played behind closed doors on November 1, while the rest of the show takes place on November 2 at the 12,000-seater Royal Arena.

BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen is the sixth stop in the organizer's 2019 circuit, with one more event yet to be announced. The 2019 circuit will conclude with the $500,000 BLAST Pro Series Global Final, which will feature the four teams that have accumulated the most points at BLAST events.

Northern Arena hosted several between 2015-16. They tapered off the CSGO game when the tournaments started getting higher prize pools and increased in frequency. Perhaps they couldn't keep up, I suppose. I'd love to see them get back at it. It takes a lot for tier 1-2 teams to attend events now, sadly. $100K prize pools will seldom do it. DreamHacks already run plenty of those. I'd like Northern Arena to up their game. But, you're right. Canada has good representation in the pros. They should get a major Tier 1 event. I'd be happy with anything, tbh. BLAST just guarantees very popular teams to attend. I'd love to see C9, NiP, Liquid, Astralis, NaVi, mibr, etc. Despite what distinct reputations they have now with hltv fans.

Sadly I wasn't around in the CSGO scene in 2015-2016 but I watched a vlog n0thing did back in the day where they went to a tournament in Toronto w/ the old C9 roster. I'd LOVE a major here, personally I think we should've gotten a major in Toronto to celebrate 20 years of CS because CS was made in Canada but that doesn't look like it's happening, maybe the 1st major of 2020 but still doubtful. Canada has a lot of fans & I feel like we should at the minimum get a T1 ESL One or IEM event
