Windigo pick up Calyx, hAdji

Windigo have bolstered their squad with the additions of Buğra "⁠Calyx⁠" Arkın and Ali "⁠hAdji⁠" Haïnouss, it has been announced.

The news was broken on Instagram by Windigo Managing Partner Maksym Bednarskyi and confirmed to HLTV.org by sources close to the team.

The duo have signed with Windigo on a three-month trial, replacing Viktor "⁠v1c7oR⁠" Dyankov and Yanko "⁠blocker⁠" Panov, both of whom were moved to the bench as the Bulgarian team wished to inject foreign blood into the roster in a bid to scale greater heights.

Calyx will reunite with the Windigo players

Calyx, who had been open to offers since leaving ex-Space Soldiers, is no stranger to Windigo, having played for the team as a stand-in at DreamHack Masters Dallas due to blocker's visa issues. He averaged a 1.10 rating at the North American event, where the Bulgarian team placed 9th-12th following defeats to FaZe and North.

hAdji had been on the lookout for a new team since stepping down from the FrenchFrogs lineup, a month ago. This will be his second international challenge after Imperial, with whom he reached the semi-finals at DreamHack Open Montreal 2018.

With these changes, Windigo now have:

Poizon and shipz are t1 material, are they really gonna play with hAdji??? I mean, bubble is OK at fraging and does a good job as IGL, poizon and shipz are great, but why add 1 OK player (calyx) that's worse than both the players they kicked and 1 player that really suck! And they do this at the same time as they have to switch language? Makes nooooo sense ...

Calyx is OK, wouldnt say he's better than either blocker or victor (about the same). Nice to hear that we agree on hadji atleast. If it's gonna be worth switching language you have to upgrade the players a lot. That's really not the case here. Conclusion: Worse players and switching language, hence I don't believe in this project.

I edited my last post (added a lot). I kinda like Calyx (back in SS), it would make much more sense if they added for example paz and Calyx even though I think they could've gotten better players.

Agree with "If it's gonna be worth switching language you have to upgrade the players a lot" but they probably wanted free agents and players like kio, flusha, sunny, cajunb might didn't wanna join. Anyway, imo lineup should be victor, calyx, shipz, poizon, +1

We’re going to see a shit ton of mixed rosters now that has occurred — teams like Liquid now even have the chance to compete, whereas teams like Fnatic are notorious for continuously competing. Big money to be won within the top 4 finishes.
