StarLadder Major team list finalised

All 24 teams for the StarLadder 2019 Major have been determined following the end of the Minors and of the Play-in qualification tournament.

DreamEaters, North and INTZ booked the final three spots at the Major after coming through the four-team Minor Play-in tournament, making MVP PK the odd one out.

The qualified trio will join the top two teams from each of the four Minor Championships and the Returning Challengers from IEM Katowice in the New Challengers Stage of the Major, kicking off on August 23 at the Verti Music Hall.

The qualifying stages for the StarLadder Major are over

The Returning Challengers are the teams who finished 9th through 14th at IEM Katowice except Cloud9, who lost their spot due to being unable to retain the majority of the line-up that competed at the Polish Major.

Below you can find the 16 teams who will be duking it out in the New Challengers Stage:

The top eight teams of the initial stage will advance to the New Legends Stage - also taking place at the Verti Music Hall -, joining the eight-best sides from IEM Katowice, including defending champions, Astralis, and the current No.1 team in the world, Liquid.

The following eight teams have already secured entry into the New Legends Stage:

Both the New Challengers Stage and the New Legends Stage will feature a Swiss system, with a best-of-three format being used in all progression (2-0 and 2-1 pools) and elimination matches.

The top eight teams of the New Legends Stage will progress to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs, called 'New Champions Stage', which will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena from September 5-8.

So you're saying that every team was periodically very solid (and extremely challenging) during Astralis era? Yeah, funny. During Astralis era, there were teams that were breaking apart, barely had few seasons together, and teams that still couldn't find the right players. New teams formed with new line-up, roles, and etc. So the same thing can be said for them as you're saying for Liquid. Still doesn't change the fact that they topped #1 spot in 5 tournaments in a row. Quit thinking as if they're just beating 1 team to win 1st place. They have beaten teams over and over again, climbing up playoffs, beating over 8+ teams PER tournaments and winning 1st place. Repeating that kind of achievement especially in CSGO where everyone has bad days is exactly not a "fluke".

Nobody said Liquid is stronger, but they are also definitely not a "fluke". I'm simply reminding you of how events occur and that completing against teams OVER AND OVER again for 5 tournaments straight that partake several days PER tournament while continuously flying out in airplanes with little to no sleep and still being jet-lagged and managing to top 1st spot over and over again is not exactly a "fluke". If you actually tried playing seasons for yourself, you'll understand how difficult playoffs are especially against experienced team with huge money prize on the line and this team done did it 5 times in a row and you're calling it a "fluke". Lmao. You're the type of people who instantly tells me you have absolutely no idea how CSGO actually works, probably made it to badge level in MM at the highest, rank C at the highest in ESEA, Level 6 at the highest on FaceIT then all of a sudden you know everything about CSGO and how pro teams should do certain things that you think is right and yes, those people are what I call noob but I guess you prefer to be called n33b.
