Syman eliminate FURIA from StarLadder Major

Syman confidently dispatched FURIA in two maps, eliminating the Brazilian squad from the New Challengers stage of the Berlin Major.

FURIA and Syman kicked off their elimination match on Train, where a successful 3-0 start was witnessed for the CIS underdogs off the back of a fruitful pistol round. The Brazilian squad retaliated in equal measure, after which a turbulent dynamic followed, whereby the two teams went blow-for-blow, leading to an 8-7 half in slight favour of Syman.

Syman followed it up by taking the second half pistol, courtesy of star player Ramazan "⁠Ramz1kBO$$⁠" Bashizov's USP-S 3k. The team's dominance persisted through to the end of the map, as FURIA struggled to put up much of a performance on the offense, securing but two rounds over its course, the latter thanks to a spectacular Deagle 4k from Kaike "⁠KSCERATO⁠" Cerato. This performance led to a convincing 16-9 victory in favour of the CIS representatives.

Inferno was next on the agenda, where Syman continued to show a strong performance, kicking off to a 2-0 start on the defence. Yuri "⁠yuurih⁠" Santos placed his team on the scoreboard off the back of a Krieg 3k, creating space for a lead to be accrued. After this dominant stretch, the Brazilian machine lost momentum, able only to produce an additional two rounds to Syman's six, concluding the initial half 9-6 in the CIS squad's favour.

Sanzhar "⁠neaLaN⁠" Iskhakov and company remained in control and won the pistol round and the following two, extending the round discrepancy between the teams to six. FURIA made a last-ditch effort in fending off the offense, but faltered in the following round, leading to a fragile economy. The weakness was exploited by the CIS squad, and, despite a buy from their opponents in the ensuing round, were able to secure map point on Inferno. A brisk A hit from Syman spelled the end for FURIA, as Andrei "⁠arT⁠" Piovezan and company were sent packing in a disappointing 12th-14th place, their exact same placing from IEM Katowice.
