Envy set to seek replacement for Sonic - Report

Envy appear to be on the hunt for a new fifth player as Aran "⁠Sonic⁠" Groesbeek is set to make his way out of the active roster, according to a report by Rush B Media.

Less than three months after adding Sonic from the South African side of ATK, Envy are reportedly on the hunt for a replacement. Sonic had joined the team as an AWPer at the start of June, with the report indicating that in-game leader Noah "⁠Nifty⁠" Francis is set to assume the role in his stead.

Sonic has reportedly been sidelined on Envy

During his time with Envy, Sonic helped to qualify for IEM Chicago, where losses to Liquid and MIBR saw the team eliminated from the tournament in last place. A failure to qualify for ESL One New York, the StarLadder Major Berlin Americas Minor, and the MSI MGA Finals left Envy with few notable results to their name, with their only respite stemming from narrowly retaining their spot in ESL Pro League for Season 10 through Relegation.

Envy will have little time to finalize a replacement if the move comes to fruition as they are set to compete in the ECS Season 8 NA Pinnacle Cup and the DreamHack Masters Malmo NA Closed Qualifier in two weeks time.

With the reported removal of Sonic, Envy would be left with the following roster:
