G2, CR4ZY advance to 2-1 pool in Berlin

G2 and CR4ZY have advanced to the 2-1 pool of the New Legends Stage following convincing victories over MIBR and FaZe on Overpass (16-4) and Mirage (16-9), respectively.

The match-up between G2 and MIBR kicked off to an explosive start, where the French squad was able to secure a bomb explosion due to time in spite of a USP-S 1v3 clutch from Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga. The offensive proceeded to gain momentum, conceding one round on MIBR's first full-buy where fer once more demonstrated an outstanding play with four kills. Outside of outlined clutch plays, the Brazilian defence struggled immensely when it came to shutting down the French offense, leading to a worrying 3-12 deficit for MIBR.

A second pistol round loss exacerbated MIBR's predicament. The Brazilian squad was unable to counter their opponents' momentum in the following two rounds, conceding map point as a result. MIBR had one last hoorah in round 19, where a fruitful team effort prevented G2 from obtaining a perfect record on the CT side, but the French side was simply too far ahead at that point and quickly wrapped things up.

FaZe and CR4ZY faced off on Mirage, where Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer commenced affairs with an impressive USP-S 4k. Early momentum was very nearly upset off the back of an unfortunate second round, salvaged by Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski, who assisted in converting a 2v4.

A total of four rounds went the way of FaZe before the tides of war turned - CR4ZY found wind in their sails, leading to six consecutive rounds, in large thanks to consistent impact from Rokas "⁠EspiranTo⁠" Milasauskas. With their foot on the gas pedal, CR4ZY persisted to a 9-6 offensive half.

Maintaining form from the previous half, EspiranTo went on to ensure the continuation of CR4ZY's momentum in the early rounds of the second half, securing a USP-S 3k in the second pistol. The underdogs subsequently outshined FaZe on their first full buy, extending their lead to 13 points. FaZe bounced back in the following three rounds, but subsequently conceded the map to CR4ZY, who are now one victory away from the playoff stage.
