Renegades eliminate DreamEaters from StarLadder Major

DreamEaters are the first team to be eliminated from the Major after losing 2-0 to Renegades.

The best-of-three elimination match between DreamEaters and Renegades began on Mirage, which Svyatoslav "⁠svyat⁠" Dovbakh and co wasted no time getting into as they won themselves the first round of the map. However, they were only able to secure a 2-0 advantage before the rifles of Aaron "⁠AZR⁠" Ward and Justin "⁠jks⁠" Savage turned the game in Renegades' favor. After a slow start from DreamEaters, several big rounds from their in-game-leader sparked life into the team's defense and they managed to close out the half with only a slight deficit.

The momentum that DreamEaters gained from their comeback in the first half didn't last long as they added just two more rounds to their score before Renegades yet again took control of the game. The Russian team stood no chance against the brick wall of a defense that Renegades set up, and in no time AZR and co closed out Mirage.

Up next was Train, where Renegades started with a bang thanks to the pistols of AZR and Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad, who made quick work of the attacking DreamEaters. It was clear that the Australian squad was still pumped from their victory on Mirage as their defense continued to be a thorn in DreamEaters' side. Every execute that the CIS side tried was shut down by the CTs, and they soon found themselves down 0-9 without a single bomb plant. With the pressure of being eliminated from the Major looming over their heads, DreamEaters still managed to get three rounds during the first half.

With the second half underway, it was do or die for the Russian team, who cut the gap after taking five rounds in a row. However, their comeback didn't last long as Renegades converted the next round in their favor and, from there, were unfazed by any aggression or retake that DreamEaters attempted. The game concluded with a flawless round from Renegades, who secured a lifeline in the tournament after losing their first two games in Berlin.
