Official: OG unveil new lineup led by Aleksib

Dota 2 giants OG have officially announced their entry into CS:GO with the long-awaited lineup composed by Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen and Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt.

The news confirms what has been an open secret for around two months, with various reports tracking the progress of the two main instigators, Aleksib and NBK-, throughout their decisions when it came to the roster as well as the organization they would represent.

Every piece of the team is now locked in after the four-man core struggled to find a fitting AWPer, initially deciding against Elias "⁠Jamppi⁠" Olkkonen — reportedly because of the Finn's ties to a VAC-banned account — before selecting ALTERNATE aTTaX's Mateusz "⁠mantuu⁠" Wilczewski.

The majority of the lineup has been on the sidelines in the aftermath of the StarLadder Major, as NBK- was replaced by Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon in Vitality, Aleksib made way for Miikka "⁠suNny⁠" Kemppi in ENCE, while HellRaisers opted for a Russian-speaking lineup to leave Issa "⁠ISSAA⁠" Murad on the bench.

In the meantime, Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså quietly exited North's active lineup after DreamHack Masters Malmö, which marked the end of his stint in the role of an in-game leader, a position he will no longer employ with Aleksib taking the reins in the new squad.

I'm also a bit confused when and how they could enter a major tournament for the first time when this team doesn't have any qualification results so far? Are they going through qualifications in 2020 and hope for a spot in major tournament in 2021? Or are teams invited to "New Legends Stage" group from where they can try to quality to Major Playoffs stage? Or is OG playing just invitation only tournaments and hope to get enough success there to earn a spot in majors in 2020? Or are they playing in MDL Open Qualifier series against tier10 teams in 2020?

Moreover If such should be the case players like simple n flusha should not be in the scene either. But they are , so maybe some well settled lineup will pick jampi up. But an org taking their first step into cs go would likely not.

As DeKay said, there are 2 possible reasons why OG didn't pick him up; 1. They contacted valve and never got a response or 2. They contacted valve and they said he won't be allowed to play in majors. And even DeKay gets fast responses from valve, you'd think an organization that big would get it even faster.

mantuu can be a superstar or a disaster, however it can be a good risk to take because he will certainly improve no matter what. Nbk is already played at this scene and is pretty washed not offering much. I think issaa is a better pickup than nbk because when he is on form and peaks it is much greater than nbks peak. I think you dont get it. Nbk is not that great and you cant base them individually by past achievements

I think that OG it is like a mix both teams. Chris G it is NBK. Ropz it is Valde. Karrigan it is Alleks B Woxic and Frozen it is Issa and Mantu. If we are talking about Faze: Rain or Olofmaster it is NBK Broky and Coldzera it is Issa and Mantu or Aleks and Valde Only they do not aim master and a good mind center - Niko.
