OG to debut at cs_summit 5

The new OG lineup will debut at cs_summit 5 as the last invited team, the organizers have announced.

OG's addition to the $150,000 tournament follows Wednesday's official revelation of the brand new European lineup featuring the likes of Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså and Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt, which had been in the works since September.

The Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen-led squad has joined five other directly invited sides to complete the Los Angeles event's list, which otherwise mostly comprises teams ranked around the 10th to 15th spot, including MOUZ, MIBR, FURIA, G2, and Virtus.pro.

The fifth summit will feature one defending champion, after all

Although this will be the team's first Summit, three of their individuals have attended one in the past, with NBK- being one of the defending champions after winning the fourth edition with Vitality in May.

Yeah instantly getting invited to a bigger tournament is a straight up start from the bottom... Then u have teams grinding through open quals never getting such chances but a new formed team with some bigger names instantly gets a stupid invite

a sport / competition should never be about who ppl wanna see it should be about deserving to be there ... and this is sth big names dont serve you ... if they are so good they can also fight through open and closed quals to show they deserve the invites to those tourneys aótherwise any org can just say lets buy 1-2 big names and get invited afterwards and get money...

i know dude... i just wanted to say that they should fight through qualifiers for tourneys which got one before they even get considered to be invited to any tourney no matter if the tourneys they get invites then have quals or not but they should first have a real breakthrough ... for example a team like Cr4zy (even tho i hated them) fighted through everything and then had good results at dreamhack opens (where an invite for a team like OG maybe would have been understandable but yeah) and so they climbed up in the rankings and deserved their shot to be invited regularly

This is cs summit, it isn't a particularly big event and it doesn't hold any real importance in relation to other tournaments or ongoing leagues. It's an event mostly for fun. It should definitely, without a doubt, be what ever team people want to see who competes there.

Yes, as best teams do not want to take part due their busy schedule, inviting new team people are very interested in seems the way to go if you want viewers. I have to also say in general all teams taking part to event are reasonably popular, only problem is lack of NA team, as naturally schedule will be NA time, I guess that should work for Brazil though.
