G2 lead cs_summit 5 group standings after day two
G2 have booked themselves a spot in the semi-finals of cs_summit 5, while the rest of the standings remain volatile heading into the final day of the group stage.
The second day of play at the Summit Studios in Los Angeles, California kicked off with a bout between OG and Virtus.pro, with the Polish team adding a third victory to their tally as they split wins against their European opposition.
Although OG led 13-5 at halftime on Mirage, they fumbled at the finish line as Virtus.pro fought back to take the map 19-15. The same scenario came close to occurring on Train as an 11-4 half lead dwindled for OG, seeing Virtus.pro once again force overtime, but this time the European roster prevailed to edge out a 19-17 map victory of their own.
Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's troops then faced off against G2, where the Serbian duo of Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač helped their team to a 16-9 win on Train. nexa didn't cool off heading into Nuke, managing to post 30 kills for his side, but the AWP of Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski proved a powerful boon for OG, with the 22-year-old finding four frags in the 30th round to edge out a 16-14 victory in OG's favour.

G2 were quick to bounce back in their double header against the Özgür "woxic" Eker-less MOUZ, making short work of Finn "karrigan" Andersen's side as they dealt them 16-2 and 16-3 batterings on Vertigo and Dust2. MOUZ did not remain winless on day two however, managing to go 1-1 with MIBR by trading a 16-7 Mirage win with an identical scoreline loss on Vertigo.
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and company suffered a similar fate to MOUZ as they were unable to take any additional map wins, falling to their Brazilian compatriots from FURIA on Mirage and Inferno. MIBR managed to push the latter map to overtime, but ultimately fell 17-19 thanks to a 41 kill performance from Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato to close out the night.
The final day of the group stage will see ten maps play out, kicking off with G2's final round of play against Virtus.pro. The remainder of the group standings remain in flux as MIBR have yet to take on OG and Virtus.pro, while FURIA will clash against MOUZ and OG in a bid to finalize a spot in the top four.
