DreamHack Open Leipzig viewer's guide

Three Danish teams in one group and a number of new rosters debuting on LAN ensure excitement at DreamHack Open Leipzig, which takes place on January 24-26.

To help lead you through the $100,000 event, we put together a viewer's guide, including information on the teams attending, schedule, talent lineup, and prize distribution of the tournament.

cadiaN's Heroic are the highest-ranked team at the event

The four invited teams were BIG, North, Virtus.pro, and for the first time at a DreamHack Open, Renegades (formerly Grayhound). Winning the ESL Meisterschaft Winter gave Sprout a spot at the event, while the last three spots were distributed through qualifiers.

HEROIC and MAD Lions grabbed the two European slots and ended up drawn into group B alongside North to ensure exciting Danish derbies right from the start. Finally, completing the team list is Cloud9 who qualified over Complexity and eUnited.

You can find the two groups below:

The event will use the tried-and-tested DreamHack Open format, with six BO1s taking place on the opening day and BO3s following for the remaining two days. The group stage will be played using the GSL system, with a single-elimination playoff stage following.

The schedule is as follows:

"Winning the ESL Meistershaft Winter gave Sprout a spot at the event," A Meister shaft is just a really big, dominant cock, isn't it?
