OG defeat ENCE 2-0 at ICE Challenge

In the first meeting between Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen's current and former team, OG took the victory over ENCE 2-0 (19-17 Train, 16-7 Overpass), moving on to the winners match of group B at ICE Challenge.

The "grudge match" series between ENCE and OG started on Train, ENCE's map pick. The Finns had a slow start on the Terrorist side, but finished it with a reasonable scoreline and took the lead after the switch to the defenses. Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli was leading the charge with a spectacular game, but his side still faltered at the end and lost the map in overtime. On Overpass, it was OG's game from start to finish, resulting in a 2-0 victory for the international squad.

A fast push towards the A site gave ENCE the first gun round victory on Train, and combined with OG's poor economy early on, allowed the Finnish team to grab a 4-2 lead. They were looking to extend that, but Mateusz "⁠mantuu⁠" Wilczewski and Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså turned around a low-buy 2v4, which started their seven-round winning streak, with Issa "⁠ISSAA⁠" Murad leading the charge, posting 18K-8D (9-4 score).

allu managed a 1v3 clutch which gave ENCE room to take six rounds on the Terrorist side, and eventually equalize the score after a successful CT pistol. Five rounds in a row went ENCE's way before the game started going back-and-forth. OG managed to win a couple of rounds to reach 12-12 and break their opponent's economy, but Jere "⁠sergej⁠" Salo's quad kill with the Deagle pushed his team back into the lead, reaching map point.

ENCE were unable to convert the 15-12 lead, OG forced overtime and despite allu's heroic performance, 46K-22D, it was Aleksib's side that took the victory, 19-17, on their opponents' map pick.

OG grabbed a strong 5-1 lead as CTs to establish themselves on the defensive side of their map pick. ENCE then managed a crucial eco upset, overrunning the A site defense, and thanks to a big 4K round by allu, get a foothold on the map (6-4). OG bounced back into control shortly, but the Finnish side didn't let go and still finished the half with six rounds, just like on Train.

Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt opened up the second half with a triple kill, pushing OG into a bigger lead. At 14-7, ENCE almost turned around a 3v5, but Aleksib came out on top in a chaotic 1v2 clutch against his former teammates. That gave OG match point, which they shortly converted into the 2-0 series win.
