hooch joins Winstrike as coach

The 32-year-old Russian Dmitry "⁠hooch⁠" Bogdanov has been appointed as the coach of Winstrike, the organization has revealed.

The veteran player represented numerous CIS teams in CS 1.6 and Global Offensive, with his last notable results coming from his time in Gambit, which included a top-8 finish at the ESL One Cologne 2016 Major.

Hooch is taking on the coaching role

After unsuccesful stints in teams such as EPG and Runtime, and finishing third at the WESG 2017 World Finals with Russia, hooch is looking to transition from in-game leading to a coaching role.

His new teammate and former Major winner Abay "⁠HObbit⁠" Khassenov is excited for the cooperation, mentioning how hooch has "brought on many talented players":

"I am very glad and proud to work and to have common goals with such a person and coach as Dmitrii ‘hooch’! He has already led a team to the legends stage in a Major tournament and has brought on many talented players. I hope that our shared experience and hard work will lead us to victories and to our dreams.", – HObbit

hooch mentioned how this will be a new phase in his career and turned his sights towards the upcoming CIS Minor Closed Qualifier, where Winstrike will be competing:

"I am very happy to join the Winstrike team. For me it is a new phase in my career, and I am going to do everything to make our team successful. We have an up-and-coming lineup with young talents and experienced players. We have a lot of work ahead of us and preparation for the CIS Minor Closed Quals and for other big tournaments. Support us and we will do our best to get a worthwhile result." – hooch

After undergoing numerous changes and parting ways with the likes of Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov and Aurimas "⁠Kvik⁠" Kvakšys, Winstrike haven't found much success and are currently ranked #56 in the world. Their full lineup is as follows:

Ok* first of all I know you are trolling but because i want to i am going to treat it like a serious comment. S1mple is not an "up and coming CiS player" he is already extremely established, being number 1 in 2018 and nr 2 in 2019 for starters. After that we also have the fact that he is already playing for the most established team in the CiS region, most likely they also have the highest salary. Now that comes to the question, if he wants to continue living in the CiS, why would he ever switch org? He would not because it is just plain stupid. Also 2/8 kinda weak bait mate.
