Flashpoint 1 Global Qualifier - Pinnacle OpenOrgless edge past AVEZ; to face DETONA in Group A winners' match
Orgless won their opener against AVEZ 16-14 on Nuke to proceed through the Group A upper bracket, where they will face DETONA.
Orgless beat AVEZ in the second FLASHPOINT Global Qualifier Group A opening match in a thirty-round Nuke and will now face DETONA in the upper bracket final while AVEZ will have to go up against the favored BIG in the lower bracket, where they will face elimination.
A 1vs2 clutch by Matthew "WARDELL" Yu to defuse the bomb on the lower site of Nuke put Orgless in the lead, but AVEZ won a clean forcebuy to keep it even and turn the tide of the early match with a steep economic advantage on the attacking side. The Poles took a 4-1 lead after winning the first gun round, but Orgless brought it back to 4-4 thanks to taking the anti-eco and two close rounds.
The North Americans then took the lead, 7-4, before an outer flank by Piotr "nawrot" Nawrocki put a fifth on the board for AVEZ. The two teams then were tied up going into the last round, 7-7, and it went down to the wire as Michał "MOLSI" Łącki downed two players but was unable to crystalize the 1vs3 against Pujan "FNS" Mehta giving Orgless the lead before switching.
It once again went down to the wire as Orgless rushed towards ramp before wrapping around to heaven and dropping into the A bombsite, but it finally took the North Americans a one for one trade in a 2vs1 afterplant situation to bag the round. Kuba "Markoś" Markowski helped AVEZ win the first gun round thanks to two late AWP shots in a 3vs2 in lower site to take an 11-9 lead.
The Poles didn’t let go of their momentum despite giving up two rounds and started to run away, breaking Orgless’ economy late in the half. The North American side pushed secret with upgraded pistols in a 5vs5 situation, prompting a dangerous retake that ended in Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik knifing Kacper "Kylar" Walukiewicz in extremis to keep his team in the running, 12-14.
Four kills by Gage "Infinite" Green denied AVEZ match point and ushered an Orgless victory, 16-14, as their Polish rivals struggled to close out the map in the last few rounds.
