MAD Lions sign AcilioN

MAD Lions have announced the signing of former Copenhagen Flames player Asger "⁠AcilioN⁠" Larsen.

The 23-year-old fills the gap left by the team's former in-game leader, Nicolai "⁠HUNDEN⁠" Petersen, who was benched on Thursday amidst plans to transition into a managerial role in the organization after getting burned out.

AcilioN last represented Copenhagen Flames until late February this year but is better known from his times in HEROIC, where he played for around six months in late 2018 to early 2019, and other teams such as Imperial in 2018, Tricked in 2017, and SK in 2016.

AcilioN joins MAD Lions as HUNDEN's replacement

Currently ranked 11th, the Danish team is the first top-15 side AcilioN has represented since briefly appearing in the 15th position with SK in early 2016.

Before signing with MAD Lions, the Dane was originally meant to take Nestor "⁠LETN1⁠" Tanić's place in c0ntact for the duration of FLASHPOINT.

His addition to MAD Lions comes just a few days ahead of the start of the team's campaign in the first season of FLASHPOINT, which is set to start on March 13 with the first group stage. The Los Angeles tournament is currently the only event on the Danish team's calendar after the benching of HUNDEN cost them a spot in the Europe Minor closed qualifier ahead of ESL One Rio.

Makes no sense. AcillioN surely has more firepower than HUNDEN, but ML doesn't need anymore firepower. What they do need is experience and someone to keep them all focused and calm which HUNDEN was really good at.

I watch the games as well, Acilion always get at least twice as many frags as HUNDEN even when they meet h2h where Acilion have played for worse teams. There is a reason so many top players in denmark left hunden behind (xyp, dupreeh, gla1ve, karrigan etc.) cause he isnt good enough to play on the big scene. Also if u had seen ML's games u would know their main strength is their fragging power they rarely "outplay" their opponent at all. Just look at the period last year where hunden wasnt playing cause he had surgery and niko was a stand-in for him. They beat north for the first time ever and almost took down fnatic in ECS qualifiers and that was with bubzkji igl'ing for his first time.

Look I think acillion is a pretty good fragging IGL and it gives them more firepower for sure. However Acillion is tactically a lot worse than Hunden (not meming btw hunden actually is a good igl). We saw what happened to ence when they wanted more "firepower" lets see what happen to this team now, I fear it will be the same.
