Triumph add curry, Junior

After losing Logan "Voltage" Long to Chaos and parting ways with Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk, Triumph have brought in two new players, Rahul "curry" Nemani and Paytyn "junior" Johnson.

Triumph captain Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman continues to look to a new generation of players as he rebuilds his roster, picking up two up-and-coming talents who are only just starting to make a mark in the semi-professional North American scene. According to Dust2.us, the new duo have not been signed by the organization but will be competing with the team for the foreseeable future.

curry, 17, arrives as a rifling replacement for Asuna after gaining notoriety in recent months through strong showings in ESEA MDL Season 33 and in online qualifiers as a part of Divine and Under 21, averaging a 1.16 rating since the start of the year. He also made a brief appearance on Triumph in their Flashpoint 1 closed qualifier effort in February, with the team exiting the tournament in 9-12th place after falling to Bad News Bears and the qualifier champions, Orgless.

curry averaged a 1.12 rating at Fragadelphia 14

junior, meanwhile, aided Recon 5 to a top-two placement in the regular MDL season, averaging a 1.07 rating before the team were knocked out in the playoffs following back-to-back losses to TeamOne and Rugratz.

Both players have demonstrated the potential to compete at a high level, skills which Shakezullah will look to hone and help improve as the team prepare for their ESL One: Road to Rio campaign on April 22nd. Triumph are also competing in the ongoing DreamHack Masters Spring open qualifier as they look to secure a berth in the closed stage.

With the addition of their new players, Triumph's roster is:

United States Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman
United States Michael "Grim" Wince
United States Gabe "Spongey" Greiner
United States Rahul "curry" Nemani
United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson

I like this approach from Triumph. Seems to work out for them. Take a risk with young players, if the gamble works you sign them and can make a sweet profit of them in the future, while also becomming more famous as an org/roster.

I still remember that Steph Curry's shot on OKC as a buzzer beater (0.9 sec remaining) thats was awesome, my favourite moment at his playing career

Grim is a good player, but he's no superstar. Someone told me he got 90% of his kills last season with the SG. Let's see what he does now that it's been nurfed.

Best player in one of the best MDL teams. Once you have proven that you have earned yourself the opportunity to try out for a better team. For some guys it works out, but he's certainly done his due.

I agree with your first sentence. In theory, your second sentence is also true, but it doesn't work that way in reality. CS has a locker room, fraternity type of mentality, especially at the pro level. There are two ways to get a tryout. One, have connections, meaning be an ass kissing suck up. Two, be a nutty FPL fragger. Pros only respect players who have personally shit on them in a match. Being a solid well rounded player who plays smart, knows how to use utilities, etc. won't get you anywhere.

I don't know those players, but there stats are good, so i think those are a good pickups. For me Spongey should be benched aswell, and i would consider moving Shakezullah to a Coach position, but that's only my proposition.

Replace Spongy and Shakezullah with Leaf and Sneaky, and then you might actually have something.
