FaZe target Bymas - Report

FaZe are in discussions to sign Aurimas "⁠Bymas⁠" Pipiras on a trial basis as a replacement for Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer, according to a report from DBLTAP.

The 16-year-old talent would take the place of olofmeister on the active roster, with the Swedish legend stepping down from the team on Saturday after revealing that he was suffering from fatigue and motivational issues.

Bymas is a relatively unknown quantity in the professional scene, with his most notable achievement coming at the end of 2019 when he helped 1337HUANIA to a first place finish at the Baltic Masters Season 3 Finals, where he averaged a 1.27 rating in the grand finals.

FaZe are reportedly considering the addition of Bymas

Much like Helvijs "⁠broky⁠" Saukants, Bymas rose to prominence through his performances in FPL, catching the eye of Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač who earmarked the Lithuanian in his Top 20 players of 2019 interview as his bold prediction for this year:

"There's this guy Bymas from FPL who really surprised me. I watched him a couple of times and I think he's pretty good and a pretty versatile player. He's not going to be in the Top 20 next year, but I believe he's going to be a big thing. I believe he has the potential to make it to the top and do some good things."

If the move comes to fruition, FaZe would have:

Paying NiKo, cold, rain and olof can't be cheap, though FaZe have deep pockets. I don't blame them for bringing in cheap young talent. In fact it's good to see them shed some light on them. Rain shouldn't be underestimated. He's very valuable, especially when paired with NiKo. I think FaZe is a team that work on player pairings. NiKo + rain, NiKo + cold, broky + literally anyone. If you can get bymas into that dynamic as well, FaZe will be a force to be reckoned with.

no, broky was a large gamble. think about the roles they have/had to fill. broky was replacing guardian and is the awper, the most impactful and invested in role. bymas will be replacing olof as the support player. far more rides on the awper than the support player.

In most of the maps Broky is the support player, like in Nuke, where he is rotating from ramp/heaven/outside depending the needs of the team while Olof was anchoring ramp. On T side Olof is the lurker, you can see it on his stats where he has very few assists (kill and flashes) compared to their teammates. He got the shit roles, because he was doing entry on quick rounds so other teammates can refrag or playing alone trying to outsmart rotations and getting info, but it doesn't worked really well for him (that's what Broky was doing with no luck before they swap roles some months ago).

Cheap because they don't want to invest in players and that's what is pathetic. FaZe's results aren't necessary good since all of the cs scene, with the exception of Astralis, is so inconsistent. I mean with olof and rain 3rd and 5th is very good, this isn't 2018 faze firepower really wasn't that strong. Maybe they don't have spending money for big buyouts who knows. Either way i think if this potato kid fits and can deliver in t1 they should have great results. Rain gets too much criticism, he is an entry and according to everyone the best teammate ever. He might not be at his peak, but he is facilitating everyone else in the team. This kid they are trialing has never played a competitive match and is 16 year old. We don't even know at what level his english is, let alone if he can fit in a T1/T2 team. All he does is play FPL, so they are looking to him for fragging power and not to have a tactical edge, that's not a sign of a good IGL in my opinion. And NiKo will never be MVP as long as he can't focus only on his game, let alone win a major.

Jesus, people crying out for Lekro or Alex just because they know their name and at one point had an IGL role. Alex picked up the role just like NiKo and when Zywo0 wasnt winning on hes own, Vitalitys strats were absolutely nothing to write home about. Big personality who might crash just like it did with NBK. Lekr0 would be a better choice, but why not giving new talents a chance? Most if not all future and alot of current pros in CS GO were some young FPL player at one point.. Eventho NiKo will never be at the level of gla1ve, him and yNk have lately improve fazes teamwork, with coldzera also pitching in. Bringing in a new dynamic is just as much gamble as bringing in a new talent. Wich other team besides astralis are consistently winning everything eventho they have a better IGL? None... GL to Bymas, only time will tell if hes a good addition.. Not HLTVs comment section..

Alex, don't want heavy playing/tournament schedule, personality that might clash with others. And what kind of IGL is Alex without Zywo0 winning matches on hes own? Vitalitys certainly looked flat when he was not able to play 1v5. Took up the IGL role just like NiKo, didn't do any better. Lekr0, 26 years old, brought NiP to new hights with hes IGL role? Nope, a transformerd player just like NiKo. Point is, theres only a handful great IGLs, and none of them besides gla1ve are able to produce a dominant all winning team no matter their IGL skills. When not expecting one team to win absolute verything, NiKo and yNk with coldzera pitching in are doing a pretty decent job. Theres less risk to bring in a talent on trial, shape him into the team dynamic, than completly start over with new IGL and dynamics. All future cs go pros and alot of the current were young unproven FPL players at one point..

Think of this in such a way that let's assume for worst case scenario the player whom they got in doesn't do much and is not giving the optimal performance they will move him and get someone else and right now any player who plays tier X if gets a chance to play tier 1 would give their hearts out and he has good teachers and also someone who went through the same experience i.e broky so broky can share experience as to what to expect and all
