Five teams through to cs_summit 6 Europe Regional Qualifier

The cs_summit 6 Europe open qualifier has reached its conclusion, with five teams progressing to the closed qualifying stage to the Regional Major Ranking event: FATE, Japaleno, PACT, AVEZ, and Nordavind.

The two-day online event saw 161 teams fight for five places at the cs_summit 6 Europe closed qualifier, which is scheduled to take place from June 22-23 and features teams such as fnatic and BIG. The tournament began with best-of-one matchups until the latter stages of playoffs, where a best-of-three format was used from the quarter-finals onwards.

In the quarter-final matchups, FATE and AVEZ took down GRAFICIARZE and Nordavind, respectively, with swift 2-0 scorelines to become the first two teams to qualify for the next stage. Shortly after, Japaleno dispatched of AGO and PACT overcame Secret in three-map series to join the aforementioned sides in the regional qualifier.

NaToSaphiX's Nordavind round out the five qualified teams

One final spot was up for grabs following the conclusion of the playoffs in a secondary bracket featuring the losers of the quarter-finals. There, Secret and Nordavind prevailed over AGO and GRAFICIARZE to set up a fifth place decider to determine the final qualifying team.

There, Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen and co. brushed Secret aside in two comfortable maps on Dust2 (16-8) and Inferno (16-11) to lock down a top five placing and claim the last spot in the closed qualifier.

Makes me feel sad how AGO fucked up these qualifiers - lost in OT vs Japaleno in the last map (qualifying match) and then lost to fucking Secret in lower bracket

I mean, none of this teams have a chance against Fnatic, Complexity, Big, Mad Lions and Heroic in a Bo3... It all depends on how the bracket will shape up. But with actual seeding, the qualified teams are done.

I'm surprised that FATE has gotten here. Japaleno lacks teamplay, I know they didn't have much time together but still I don't think this project will work. PACT is looking really strong. AVEZ core is great, they need to find permanent fifth asap. Nordavind is insane. So overall I think PACT and Nordavind can make something here, other than that I don't think so.
