BIG, OG, Heroic, FATE qualify for cs_summit 6 Europe
BIG, OG, HEROIC and FATE have booked their ticket to the upcoming cs_summit 6 Europe, with one more spot for the RMR tournament still up for grabs.
The first day of the cs_summit 6 qualifier in Europe has come to an end, with four teams making it through to the Regional Major Ranking tournament and four more set to fight for one last spot through the qualifier’s lower bracket.
The first upsets of the day happened in MAD Lions vs. PACT and Dignitas vs. FATE. The Polish team won two maps against the Danes to eliminate them from the running, while FATE came out on top 16-12 against Dignitas in their series’ decider map, Inferno. The two teams that pulled the big upsets of the day then clashed in the quarter-finals with a cs_summit 6 spot on the line. Their series was the only second round match to go to three maps as PACT took FATE’s pick 16-4 and then lost their own 14-16. The two teams then brawled on Train with the Bulgarians crossing the finish line 16-13.
fnatic struggled in their opening match against Nordavind despite winning the first map as they lost the second by a large margin, 2-16, before moving on to the quarter-finals by the skin of their teeth with a 19-16 scoreline in the decider. Jesper "JW" Wecksell an company weren’t able to win their quarter-final match, however, losing 0-2 to HEROIC, and will have to play through the lower bracket to fight for a spot in the upcoming RMR tournament. Before beating fnatic, the aforementioned Danes opened their day by taking out Endpoint, reverse-sweeping the majority-British squad after losing their map pick, Mirage, in overtime.

Complexity struggled in their first map of the day, Inferno, giving it up 14-16 to Japaleno, although the recently crowned BLAST Premier Spring Europe Finals champions were able to pull it back comfortably in the two subsequent maps before falling to another one of the hot teams of the moment, BIG, in the quarter-finals.
The German squad, who made a 16 position leap to eighth place in the ranking earlier this month after winning DreamHack Masters Spring, won all four maps played today as they beat HAVU cleanly before knocking Complexity down to the lower bracket. In the qualifying match, BIG’s stars Florian "syrsoN" Rische and Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş shone particularly bright on Mirage, with 29 and 27 frags, while Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz hit thirty on their pick, Inferno.

Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski both put up big performances against Sprout in the first round of play, ending with 1.31 and 1.23 ratings in the three-map series that they took 2-1. The European mixture then closed out the day on a high note with a two-map victory against c0ntact to secure their presence in cs_summit 6.
The action will continue on June 23 with the lower bracket matches. The first round, scheduled for 15:00 , will feature fnatic vs. PACT on one side and c0ntact vs. Complexity on the other, before the last match is played for the final spot in the European division of cs_summit 6 at 18:00 .
