CS:GO update addresses spinning defuse

Valve have shipped a small update to CS:GO, most notably removing the possibility to defuse the bomb while turning too rapidly.

For a long time the "spinning defuse" technique has been a rather controversial topic and an area of the game many have called to change after encountering its usage in matches, most recently in the encounter between FORZE and Spirit in the ESL Pro League Season 12 Europe qualifier.

The update has ensured that turning "too rapidly" will from now on cause the bomb defusal progress to reset, rendering attempts such as this one by Johannes "⁠b0RUP⁠" Borup against Virtus.pro, which mainly occur in pistol rounds, no longer viable.

The remainder of the minor update relates to applying graffiti on translucent surfaces and includes the addition of a music kit, as well as a slight change to the game's chat filtering system:

[ GAMEPLAY ]
– Bomb defusal progress will now reset if the defusing player turns too rapidly while defusing.
– Translucent surfaces are now ineligible for applying graffiti.

[ MUSIC ]
– A new music kit “All for Dust” by Amon Tobin is now available for purchase in-game.

[ MISC ]
– When players open containers or receive items during the match, text filtering will no longer apply to names of received items in chat messages.
